Successful Coaches Are Full of Wit

If you are a successful coach be it an executive coach, business coach or corporate coach, do you demonstrate your wit when coaching your clients? Have you learned how to leverage that wit to increase your client's results?

Wit is defined by Webster as "powers of thinking and reasoning; good sense, wisdom; to make clever remarks." In thinking about this word and its meaning, I realize that this simple word - wit - is defined by each of its letters. And more importantly as a professional coach, I could truly leverage each of these letters during every interaction with my clients. Please let me explain.

Webster said that one of the definitions of wit is wisdom. The first letter of this word is W. As a coach you share potentially sharing your wisdom with your clients when necessary. According to my coach, David Herdlinger, "Wisdom is learning from the mistakes of others." What a great definition and how appropriate within a successful coaching practice.

Another word in the definition of wit is good. This implies that the value of integrity is present. Successful coaches must have integrity. Without integrity, these coaches would not receive the referrals necessary to build their practices.

Finally, when looking at the phrase "powers of thinking and reasoning," this suggests that tenacity must be also present. Many times, successful coaches must think and rethink to help their clients especially when using a developmental approach to coaching. Also, these coaches are also leveraging the powers of thinking and reasoning within their clients. To take these actions does require tenacity - the ability to continue, to keep moving forward, to overcome past inertia and obstacles.

If you are a coach and want to increase your success, then consider using your W.I.T. to achieve that goal. Let Wisdom, Integrity and Tenacity become your key values and let them drive your every day behaviors in all interactions.

Opportunities Abound in Home Based Business

For decades, people have been seeking ways to have it all: time, money, family, fun, travel, and more. People are seeking life balance after years of working 10 hour days and spending their time commuting to jobs they are disenchanted with while there children are being raised by strangers. The answer to the dilemma of how to manage family obligations with personal interests and pursuits, all while producing an income that enables you to enjoy a life of luxury and freedom is to build and enjoy a profitable home-based business. The right home based business can be the platform for you to reach your dreams of financial independence and life balance.

While some people think of home based business as a way to produce a supplemental income, in reality, home based business has the potential to produce executive level incomes without the stress, headaches of traditional business, or high start-up fees that traditional businesses or franchises require. Operating a home-based business offers low start-up costs, the ability to be within your own environment, ultimate flexibility and no or low overhead. In addition, there are numerous tax incentives, no commute (except a few feet from your bedroom to your computer) and the personal fulfillment of knowing you are in control of your life and your destiny. You can run your business while you're enjoying time travelling or playing with your children at the playground. The concept of home-based business has appealed to many, providing millions of people the ability to create a life of their own design and enjoy a fulfilling life of financial freedom and personal balance.

In 2004, almost 7 million people were self-employed and working at home and that number is growing exponentially. With the instability in job security caused by the expanding global economy, people are finding that being self-sufficient and self-reliant is the only way to accomplish the level of financial security and freedom they desire. People are realizing there is more to life than punching a clock and are seeking a life that is fulfilling and rewarding. The advancement of technology has assisted in the growth of home-based businesses, enabling people to easily and cost effectively communicate globally. With VOIP and the advancements in high-speed internet and cellular telephone technology, people are able to connect across borders efficiently, making the world your marketplace. Businesses that are as complex as international trade can be easily be handled from your living room couch or with an iPhone as you're snowboarding down the slopes in Aspen.

Home based business opportunities range from clerical outsourcing, multi-level marketing businesses and specialized trade to lucrative direct sales opportunities. There's a great variety of legitimate opportunities that provide people with everything they require to establish and grow a successful and profitable business. Before starting a business, be sure to evaluate the following aspects to ensure the business model will meet your goals:

• Business model and structure.
• Marketing system provided (if applicable)
• Income potential and how you receive your income (check, direct from customers, from company, etc.)
• Time required to produce the income
• Flexibility in the business model
• Flexibility in time and location
• Products and demand for product
• Stability of the marketplace (i.e.: real estate, medical, etc)
• Ease of start-up, experience or know-how required
• Availability of assistance and leadership
• History of success with existing members, affiliates, etc.
• Stability of the parent company
• International viability
• Cost of start-up
• Cost of overhead

With a little due diligence, a desire to create your life by your design, a willingness to learn, and an entrepreneurial spirit, you can find the right opportunity for you and enjoy a lifestyle that is financially rewarding and fulfilling working from the comfort of your own home.

Learning to Socialize with Your Boss and Workers

Socialize Successfully With Your Boss and Employees

During the twenty-three years I spent in management, there were many occasions when I participated in social events with my employees. Likewise, I attended parties where my supervisors were present.

By participating in hundreds of receptions, dinners, celebrations, award ceremonies, fund raising campaign kickoffs and other out of the office happenings, I have learned which communication behaviors work and which ones backfire.

You will agree that, handled wisely, social time with employees can boost morale. Employees welcome chances to get to know the boss as a person, not just a manager. During the frenetic work week, they encounter the boss as the source of discipline, assignments, occasional reprimands and, typically, very little personal chit chat. So it's refreshing to be around the supervisor when she showcases her humor, asks about your family and hobbies, and gives an unrestrained laugh.

However, both employees and bosses should be aware that the social scene does not erase the workplace lines of authority. Example: Because the boss likes your personality at a party does not mean you will get the next promotion, which depends instead on your professional skills.

Here are seven guidelines that every employer and employee should keep in mind for after-hours mingling:

ONE: Avoid off color humor. The jokes you would tell your golf buddies could jeopardize your professional reputation if you share them with workplace colleagues, no matter how informal the setting. True, they might laugh out of courtesy, or maybe from discomfort. Yet you risk losing their respect. Play safe. Don't tell any joke that you wouldn't tell at an office staff meeting.

TWO: Refrain from touching, other than a handshake greeting, unless you happen to go dancing with the group. Draping an arm around a colleague might prompt an eventual lawsuit, especially when you don't give that person an expected raise. And the employee who caresses the boss can create an image of fakery and pandering.

THREE: Drink moderately. Every year, holiday parties, company picnics and similar outings become career graveyards for bosses and employees who want to become "the life of the party."

Sometimes we assume that two more drinks will help us talk more easily. That's a mistake. Two more drinks will encourage you to talk more--period. The impaired speaking and unsteady walk that follow those extra cocktails could brand you: "lush," "a drunk," "undisciplined," or something similar.

Along those lines, never mention that drinking is important to you. Stay away from "Nothing like a stiff drink at the end of the day to help a guy unwind." Whimsically, we slip into comments like that, such as "Thought that bartender would never bring our order." Although you are trying to inject a bit of levity into the conversation, the quips could backfire, categorizing you as a problem drinker.

FOUR: Make sure you circulate among everyone present, not just the managerial group you feel most comfortable with. The person who talks with his or her clique and avoids everyone else nullifies the inclusive good will the event is intended to foster. Spend time with line employees as well as "the suits."

FIVE: Avoid shop talk. Demonstrate that you have an interesting, meaningful life away from the corporation. Nobody wants to hear your opinions about a five year plan, a drop in sales or the employee you had to fire. As an old song advises, "talk happy talk, things that people like to hear."

Stay well informed about major sporting events, releases of new movies, great places to vacation, new restaurants your friends have recommended, bestselling books and national events. Definitely, party goers want to talk about them, not corporate problems and plans.

SIX: Listen attentively. Good listeners become our favorite people. We move away from motormouths who dominate conversations. Encourage others to talk, with comments like "very interesting," "tell me more," and "What happened next?" When Stephen Covey wrote 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, he titled chapter five, "Seek first to understand, and then to be understood." Follow that advice, and you'll become the hit of the company's social outing.

SEVEN: Mind your manners. If the occasion includes a meal, pay special attention to your table etiquette. You want to look like you belong at top-tier banquets. Illustrate that you have acquired polish and grace.

Achieve More Using Smart Goals

Set SMART Goals to Achieve More

Personal Training Self Help Basics

Are you having trouble achieving your goals, or getting through a period of no success? Then take the time to learn how to set SMART goals. Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic, and Tangible.

Specific
Setting specific goals is the key to all sorts of success. Most folks know the story about the 1954 Harvard class where they measured those who made goals and those who did not. Each time they grouped the goal-oriented graduates into smaller and smaller groups: those who made goals every now and then, on a yearly basis, and on a monthly, weekly or daily basis, each subset of individuals ended up making more money, having free time and far more happiness than the others.

And guess what? The no-goal folks were left out in the cold and achieved almost nothing in comparison to those who set goals.

Measurable
The more measurable something is, the easier it is to see if we've achieved, or not achieved, the desired outcome. If you're vague in your goals, and don't have a way to measure it, how will you know you've achieved it? You won't, it's that simple. So make sure your goal can be measured, and you're done with step 2.

Attainable
When you set goals that are the most important to you, you will find a way to make them happen. That's a fact! You begin to find things that fit in with your goals, you develop a positive attitude, you work to develop new skills and abilities, and you somehow find the financial capacity to achieve them. You think of all the opportunities that you've left unanswered and you uncover new opportunities to help you achieve your goal.

You can do almost anything when you plan out the steps necessary to reach the goal, and set the time frame that holds you accountable to that goal. Things that never before were possible now are not only possible but are in fact probably, because you've learned and grown to match these tough goals. Listing your goals helps you feel better about yourself, as you learn to see yourself worthy enough to achieve these goals, that you deserve these goals, and you reach these goals!

Realistic
Do you want to aim for something you'll never reach, or for something that is within your power? Remember, you have to be willing and able to do something, so make sure you're realistic in your goal setting. You definitely want to stretch and not set something you could do without effort, but if you know that there is absolutely no way you can physically run a 4 minute mile because you have arthritis, then don't make that your goal. Now keep in mind that with the Internet, e-mail, and the globalization of the marketplace that you can achieve more than you ever thought possible, there still may be things that just aren't possible. Don't set these as goals, set these as dreams, and point towards those. But set the attainable goals so you can get satisfaction from achieving more and more of your goals.

Tangible
A goal is tangible when you can experience it with one of your five senses. That means if you can can taste it, touch it, smell it, see it or hear it. When your goal is tangible, or when you tie an tangible goal to a intangible goal, you have a better chance of making it specific and measurable and thus see it as more attainable to you.

So be SMART about your goal setting, read a book or 2 about goal settings, have others help you be more accountable to yourself for achieving these goals, and you will do more and be more than you ever dreamed possible!

Indiana Jones Getting What He Wants

Goal Setting Secrets of the Real Life Indiana Jones
Remember when you were 15? Can you recall some of the dreams you had then? How many have you accomplished?
My reflection on that is what attracted me so strongly to the story of John Goddard, of whom the LA Times called, "The real life Indiana Jones," and one of his expeditions, "the most amazing adventure of this generation."
When he was 15, Goddard was inspired to create a list of 127 “life goals” (he called it “My Life List”). By his last count, the young seventy-something has accomplished 111 of these PLUS 400 others he set along the way!!
Here’s just a few of the ones he’s reached:
He’s climbed many of the world’s major peaks including the Matterhorn, Ararat, Kilimanjaro, Fiji, Rainier and the Grand Tetons.
He followed Marco Polo’s route through all of the Middle East, Asia and China.
He’s run a mile in five minutes, broad jumped 15 feet, high jumped five feet and performed 200 sit-ups and 20 pull-ups.
He was the first person to explore the 4200-mile length of the world's longest river, the Nile. (It was the number one goal of the 15-year-old Goddard and the one the Times called “the most amazing adventure of this generation.”). He has also been down the Amazon, Congo and others.
John has been to 122 countries, lived with 260 different tribal groups, explored the underwater reefs of Florida, the Great Barrier Reef in Australia, the Red Sea, and more.
He has flown 40 different types of aircraft and still holds civilian air records; has read the Bible cover to cover and learned to speak French, Spanish and Arabic.
The last two on his original list included marrying and having children (he has six) and living to see the 21st Century, which he has done in style.
And I’m just getting started. But I think you get the point.
More than just one of the greatest adventurers the world has ever known, Goddard is an incredibly wise person, as this quote of his demonstrates: "If you really know what you want out of life, it's amazing how opportunities will come to enable you to carry them out."
How did John Goddard manage to live such an incredible life of achievement? Two simple, easily duplicatable “secrets:” He chose BIG dreams and he WROTE THEM DOWN.
There’s no power at all in small dreams. When the dream isn’t big enough, it’s too easy to give in to the obstacles that appear in our life. It’s very difficult to maintain the persistence that all great achievement requires when the dream is small or ordinary.
Harland Sanders was 65-years-old, with little more than a $105 Social Security payment in his pocket, when he started Kentucky Fried Chicken. He is said to have been rejected by over 1,000 banks before he became successful. If he hadn’t had a big dream his self-esteem could never have withstood such rejection.
One of the biggest dreamers in the world is Mark Victor Hansen. Working with his partner, Jack Canfield, their idea was rejected by 140 book publishers as “unsellable.” Today, their Chicken Soup series includes more than 70 titles that have sold more than 90 million copies in 39 languages. Mark says, “The more goals you set - the more goals you get. Think big, act big and set out to accomplish big results. ”
Not only must your dreaming and goal setting be big, but it must be in writing. Brian Tracy says that this act alone increases your odds of success by 1000%! Like many people, I’d heard that I should write my goals down, but like most people, I rarely did. Looking at Brian’s formula another way, the failure to write your goals and dreams down means that you’ve got less than a 1-in-10 chance of succeeding. Can it be any wonder then that most people don’t live their dreams?
Who knows where your life can go after it is driven by life goals. You may find yourself landing on the moon someday, which happens to be one of the few original dreams that John Goddard hasn’t realized.
Whatever you dreams may be, when you're doing your goal setting, make them BIG and WRITE THEM DOWN! Don’t be like the chap in this poem that Napoleon Hill included in the original edition of Think and Grow Rich:
"I bargained with Life for a penny, And Life would pay no more, However I begged at evening When I counted my scanty store. For Life is a just employer, He gives you what you ask, But once you have set the wages, Why, you must bear the task. I worked for a menial’s hire, Only to learn, dismayed, That any wage I had asked of Life, Life would have willingly paid."

Kriya yoga has found a place in some people

Kriya Yoga And The Nature Of The Journey
Kriya yoga has found a place in some people who are looking for a deeper, more spiritual relationship with their lives. It is a kundalini oriented yoga and meditation technique, that also teaches certain spiritual and esoteric principles. Unfortunately, like many similar "spiritual" power structures, it teaches you that essentially your power lies outside of yourself - that is, that you need a 'guru', or 'master' to access your own innate spirituality.

Kriya yoga has some aims which sound both appealing and promising. They aim to eliminate "obstructions" and "obstacles" from the mind and body. Point of view is a very interesting thing here, however. Because what is an obstacle or obstruction to one person, may not be to another. This assumes a very interesting light in reference to power structures and belief systems, and highlights why it is important to maintain your own self sovereignty in mind and action.
Kriya yoga was brought to the West by Yogananda in the 1920's. He established the Self-Realization Fellowship as a 'total yoga' system that tried to address spiritual as well as physical aspects of self.

Kriya yoga is derived mainly from three other yoga techniques - karma yoga, bhakti yoga, and Jnana yoga. Karma yoga focuses on the movement of the soul both inside and outside of the mind. Jnana yoga focuses on wisdom, allowing the mind freedom. Bhakti yoga focuses on love, as it allows you to come to terms with everything around you. The aim in combining them was to "purify" the mind and soul, and proponents of kriya yoga believe they can achieve self realization more quickly this way than following the other disciplines.

Kriya Preparation

The first step in Kriya is to 'prepare' your body, and that is done in one of a couple of ways. For many, Hatha yoga is the perfect preparation exercise. For others, though, who may not be as flexible, alternatives are provided.

Breathing stance is very important for a jogger

When you are jogging there are several breathing techniques that you should keep in mind. Breathing can increase your jogging performance and the way you feel. You should not be breathing heavy when jogging or be unable to talk. This means that you are breathing in an incorrect way. When you are jogging you should be breathing through your nose. When you breath through your nose you are essentially taking in more oxygen. If you breath through your mouth while jogging this will cause you to breath heavier and to feel more exhausted.

Many coaches will instruct you that if you are becoming out of breath when you jog or if you are breathing heavy then you are probably breathing the wrong way. Joggers should breath through their nose and take long deep breaths. This means that you are receiving an optimal amount of oxygen.Besides breathing stance is very important for a jogger. If a jogger holds their arm too high then this can cause a jogger to have a poorer time. Many joggers like to run a certain amount of distance in a certain time. If you hold your arms up and close to your body this will cause you to have a poorer time. When you jog you should breath through your nose and your arms should hang down around your sides. Your body stance should be comfortable while you jog. There are several websites that have downloadable jogging tips that deal with posture and breathing techniques. If you are too out of breath then you may want to take it easy on your jog as you build yup your endurance and cardiovascular system. If you have questions about the right way to breath while jogging there are dozens of professional coaches that will be willing to answer all of your questions.

Many of these coaches have websites. Some charge money for advice and others offer free advice. When you are jogging every coach will tell you that you should be enjoying yourself.Jogging is a different type of exercise that is not only about becoming healthier but it is about having fun. Jogging is a fun activity that should give you a lot of pleasure at the end or beginning of the day. If you are breathing too heavy or out of breath this may cause you to become discouraged or frustrated while jogging. Enjoy yourself and your exercise program.

A yoga mat should also be easy to care for

Choosing A Good Yoga Mat
Yoga mats are sold in nearly every variety imaginable. They are made of synthetic materials, all natural materials, and combinations there of. Plus yoga mats can be purchased to compliment any persons taste or style.
There are a few basic categories of yoga mats: sticky mats, natural fiber mats, and natural rubber/vinyl mats. Each mat has its benefits depending on the type of yoga, the person s individual preference of feel, and the budget allowed for the item. Every store or website a person will search for yoga mats will be faced with many products that all look the same, each claiming to be the best. The best yoga mat is really in the eyes of the beholder. Some people which are interested in the mat for power yoga (also known as hatha yoga) will be doing more physical activity and are likely to sweat more. For this reason a natural fiber such as cotton or other natural woven fibers would give a better grip while sweating. People interested in using the mat for complete forms of yoga that include relaxation and meditation will want a longer and possibly thicker mat designed for lying stretched out flat. Many of these mats will be made from natural rubber or vinyl depending on the manufacturer. For stretches and balancing poses many people prefer the security of a sticky mat. These mats are made of PVC a synthetic material which is designed to help people keep their grip. The mats are often light weight and easy to carry.Buying BasicsRegardless of the exact material to be used for the mat, there are a few basic considerations to be taken with any yoga mat. The yoga mat should be durable; to test the durability some people use a quarter to rub away at a sample of the material counting the strokes. At the end of the test, this person can deduct that the mat that was able to withstand the largest number of strokes is the most durable.A yoga mat should also be easy to care for. Much like clothing, yoga mats which are machine washable are preferable to mats which require hand washing or other special care. Yoga mats are frequently used on public floors, for sanitation and personal comfort machine washable mats will fit the bill.
Most machine washable mats cannot withstand the spin cycle, for maximum life of the mat it should be removed and allow to air dry flat or hanging. Rolling the mat or folding it before it has had time to dry can also affect its longevity.

Repetition is the mother of the skill

Memory and Visualization

Who want to remember better? I guessed many of us would probably raise our hands. Almost all human beings want to remember better especially the stuff we need to use. Our children need good memory for helping them in school. Almost all brain processes need memory to help relating the known which is already in memory with the unknown which is the new things we learn. Therefore learning memory techniques can help enhancing our development of growth in life. Do you know that your memory needs visualization? It needs something to help remembering. The process is not just trying to associate the tings you want to remember with the things you already remember and never forget, at least during the time you want that memory. In this article we will learn how to make use of visualization and help the memory process.

How do we remember things? We associate the things in my memory and the things we just learn. The way of association depends on the technique each individual use. The tip is that people remember pictures better than words. However, most people are used to remembering in words and use this technique all the time when they need remembering. The result is that they often forget what they want to remember and complaining that their brain does not work well. Some think that because they are too old to remembering stuff. It is not the brain. Neither is it their ages. It is the technique. If we learn to remember in picture or we can call visualization. We can remember better no matter how old we are. Now. How do we use visualization? Get ready. This is four steps on using visualization and making your memory better.

Step 1 Organize what you want to remember.
Normally what we want to remember are not only a few sentence or a word but in stead we need to remember a series of story or principles or may be a chapter of lesson we just learn. All of the contents need to be in order. Some may not require that but it is easier if they are organized in order. For example, if we want to remember the names of the first ten presidents of the United States, we would rather need it in order although the teacher may not require that. Write it down in paper. If it is already in the text book, take the note out the major headings. Organizing the materials will help the process to be smoother and more effective. Make them in sequence and order.
Step 2 Build house files.

Build them in your mind. Try to make the picture of your five favorite rooms. May be the first room is your bed room. This will be your bed room file in your mind. Look for the position that you can put your memory and will never forget. Pick up five places. For example, the first position is at your TV, second at your bed, third at your right stool, fourth at your drawer and fifth at your mirror. Now we have five places to store our memory and we will never forget since we live with this every day. Do the same with other rooms. Make sure that we apply the same procedure of picking up the five areas so that we do not mix up the order of the areas. If you do this with five rooms, we have twenty five places to store our memory.

Step 3 Visualize of your contents and put them in your house files.
Picture your contents. For example if you want to remember the name of George Washington, you may visualize your friend, George. You have a friend named George, right? You see George diligently washing tons of tons of dishes. Once you visualize this, you will never forget. Put this image onto your first house file which is you TV. Now every time you start remembering the name of the first presidents of the United States, you see your friend George washing tons of dishes in your bed room TV. Do the same with the rest of the contents. The more outrageous the pictures are, the better you can remember the contents. Put them onto your house files. Make sure that they are in order as you have arranged previously.
Step 4 Practice and review them until you get all.

Like any other learning processes. You need to practice and review until you are good at it. “Repetition is the mother of the skill.” As I remember Tony Robbins said. Make sure that you do this often enough.
Jim SomchaiManaging Director of JimSomchai Company. He devotes his time in studying success and has been interested in the works of many personal development leaders.

Put Your Weight behind the Thoughts

Law of Attraction Accelerator - Put Your Weight behind the ThoughtsBy:

Aldian Prakoso

In the Science of Getting Rich one of the most powerful concepts is the Law of Attraction Accelerator. What exactly is this? Looks complicated and difficult isn't it? You can't be further from the truth. It is actually a very simple principle. What do you do when you speed up on the road? Do you look here and there at the scenery?

A normal person would concentrate on the road ahead. Now, using this analogy what would you do if you want to speed up on your way to wealth and success. FOCUS. Yes, that is exactly what I would do. Once you have made up your mind and have the big picture in your mind, go for it. Don't hesitate. Don't look around. Go right ahead with the gas pedal hitting the floor. Now, I know wringing the neck doesn't fetch a great picture in the mind. But, please pardon me; this is what we are required to do. Have you ever seen a sugarcane thresher? Maybe you haven't. But let me tell you, it squeezes out every drop of sugarcane juice from the cane. If it did not, it wouldn't be doing its job. So, you might well ask. Am I supposed to behave like a sugarcane thresher? Well, I would say, yes and at the same time no. Yes, because that's what focus is all about.

You can't wish to be something but not work towards it. And why not? Because we are on this earth to enjoy. Be happy. Realize our dreams. Not get squeezed. But expand. Our thoughts should encompass the whole universe. If we accomplish what we want doesn't mean others are going to be deprived. Not at all. There is enough of happiness going around in the universe. There should be a feeling of plenty, not of scarcity. That's where putting your weight behind your thoughts comes in. Once you have decided on what you want, you should put all your might to achieve it. The universe will multiply your efforts a thousand times and reflect it back to you. This is the Law of Attraction's essence. You may think from the above statements that it would be a monumental task to achieve this concentration. And let me tell you, it couldn't be easier.

he crux of the idea is to be positive and device ways to remain in this positive frame of mind. The universe and the Law of Attraction would do the rest. Just get on to the path of success and start driving towards your destination. The rest would be taken care of by nature. As you move down the road to success, events and situations would be created which would accelerate and speed you up towards your true destiny. You have to just focus on your destination. Rest would be taken care of. It looks so simple. Yet most of us flounder on the way. As soon as we see the first bump on the road, we lose heart and change direction. And when we meander all over the place, we wonder how we got there in the first place. The Law of Attraction is universal. If you have positive thoughts they would get absorbed by the universe and rebound back manifold.

The same goes for negative thoughts. Remember, the universe is neutral. Like a mirror. If you send out negative signals, you will see negativity reflected around you. So you have to be careful. Always think positively. The more you think positively, more positive things will happen to you. And it will all add up. And focus is all important. Imagine your mind to be a lens. When you hold the lens against the light, what happens? It collects all the dispersed light and points it at one specific point. And then it burns the patch you are holding the lens on. Don't you think the same is happening to your thoughts? Indeed it is. The more focused you are, more likely you will set a scorching pace towards success. Get rid of negativity. It disperses your energy. Get hold of positive thoughts by the scruff of the neck and keep twisting till the essence is realized.

Edisons Success Philosophy Ideas

Get ready for a breakthrough!
Whew… How enthusiastic I am now as I’m going to share with you one of the ‘AHA’ moments in my life.
What I’m going to talk with you about has changed my life forever and helped me achieve massive success.
I will reveal to you the secret of manifestation; how to turn your dreams into reality.
Moreover, this secret is from one of the greatest historical figures ever. This is a profound secret from one of the greatest minds ever known in the human history.
So, are you excited?
Say YES.
Are you ready?
Say YES.
Here we go…
The secret I’m going to reveal to you now is…

EDISON’S SUCCESS PHILOSOPHY

Great! Isn’t it?!

*** Here it is: Success consists of, first, defining the desired invention or product and then, second, experimenting until the correct method is found.
What an awesome, simple and profound philosophy for success!!
Since I knew this philosophy I started to turn more of my dreams into reality.
Edison’s success philosophy consists of two steps:

* The first step is to: Define your desired invention or product.

It is the simple answer to this question: WHAT DO YOU WANT?
You must define exactly your desired goals. Your desired outcome must be crystal clear that if anyone rather than you read or hear it, then he can easily achieve it exactly as you wanted it.
“I want to lose weight”… This is not a clearly defined product, because it can be achieved in millions of ways. One person can lose 1 Kilo while another can lose 10 Kilos and so on. It is neither clear nor specific.

“I want to lose 10 Kilos in three months” … This is a well defined product.
So, before you start taking action to achieve any desired goal, you must first make sure that you clearly know what you want.
The most important thing you must know is the driving force of your life; the reason why you exist. What is your purpose in life? What is your life all about?
You must know it and clearly define it in order to live with meaning, passion and satisfaction. Otherwise, when you achieve a certain goal you will face the shocking question: “What is next?!”…
* The second step in Edison’s Success philosophy is to: experiment until the correct method is found.

This step was a breakthrough for me. Before knowing it, I was wondering why I’d never been able to set a correct and complete plan the first time. Why I had to always change my plan? And if I have to always do that, then why is planning useful?
After discovering this amazing secret, I found the answer.
First, your plan must be very flexible because IT WILL CHANGE. As you move towards your goals you will discover new horizons. Your mind will stretch and your knowledge will increase so you will see better routes and accordingly you will change your plan.
But you wouldn’t be able to start without having the initial plan. Otherwise you would fail because you would be walking blindly without direction.

The first plan will give you the sense of the right track of exploration and discovery. Then you will improve it and even change it as you understand and see more.
So, be ready for failures, obstacles and difficulties and be open to learn the hidden lessons in them. Because each lesson will help you come closer to the correct method.
Edison invented the light bulb after 9999 trials!!! He didn’t consider them as failures. He perceived them as experiments. He didn’t give up saying that it is impossible to achieve this goal. Instead, he continued with his experiments believing that the correct method is on its way.
Be flexible and open to learn and experiment until you find the right way to achieve your goals and dreams.
Now you’ve discovered the success philosophy of one of the greatest names in the history of mankind.
Just put it into action.
Start by defining exactly your purpose in life and then develop a set of goals and plans to fulfill that purpose. This way your life will be focused and meaningful.
Then try a method after the other until you find the correct method to achieve your dreams.
My friend, success is a choice and it all starts with knowing what you want.
Rise above the crowd and strive for ultimate success.
You can make a difference.
I believe in you.

How To Make Your Dreams Come True

How To Make Your Dreams Come True
Editors Note: Family Circle Interview (2003) with Dr. Wayne Dyer:
Could 2003 be your lucky year - the one in which you fulfill a dream, improve your health, increase prosperity and feel happier?
Absolutely, says bestselling author Wayne Dyer, whose latest book is 10 Secrets for Success and Inner Peace (Hay House). Dyer believes that positive thinking and a spiritual connection can lead to dramatic improvements in anyone's life.
He also insists that changing your thoughts and attitudes really can lead to making your most impossible dreams come true. All you need is a burning desire and an unwavering vision of what will eventually materialize.

In a talk with Family Circle, Dyer explains how to create a new contract with yourself that will enable you to make of your life everything you want it to be.
Family Circle: How do you make 2003 the year for a personal transformation?
Dyer: First look at any disharmony or scarcity in your life - your finances, struggles, even some he alth problems - and say: I created this. My life is the result of the choices I've made. What we think determines what happens to us, so if we want to change our lives, we need to stretch our minds.
Family Circle: Is that New Age psychobabble or does it really work?
Dyer: It may sound like psychobabble, but in fact, we become what we think about. William James, the father of psychology, said that if you form a picture in your mind of what you would like to be, and you hold it there long enough, it will become a reality. I've found that has worked for me.

Family Circle: Give an example.
Dyer: When I wrote my first book, Your Erroneous Zones, there was nothing I wouldn't do to make it a success. I called bookstores to create a demand, then delivered the books to the stores myself! I always say it's never crowded along the extra mile.
Family Circle: But what if your life isn't changing in the ways that you want it to?
Dyer: Realize that insanity is repeating the same thoughts and behaviors again and again, and expecting different results. To get a new outcome, you have to rewrite your agreement with reality, which I do regularly.

Family Circle: What do you mean?
Dyer: You have to compose a brand-new agreement with yourself that says: There is nothing that is not possible for me. I can attract abundance into my life. Connect with that thought. Norman Vincent Peale said, "Change your thoughts and you change your world."
Family Circle: So if you want to lose 10 pounds . . .
Dyer: First visualize yourself looking the way you want to and never let that picture out of your head. Envision yourself eating healthful foods and exercising. If you hold those thoughts in your mind, you'll act on them.

Family Circle: So what happens when you focus on all the things that you don't have?
Dyer: You stay stuck. Every thought you have either makes you stronger or weaker. Thoughts of kindness, hope, forgiveness, and peace are strengthening. Anger, anxiety, worry, a nd fear weaken you. You must process events in terms of appreciation rather than depreciation. You either feel that the universe is plentiful and providing, or you feel short-changed, that nothing is ever right. That's what I call a scarcity mentality - expecting that things won't work out for you. I was recently on a plane that was running 30 minutes late. The woman sitting next to me said, "With my luck, I won't make my connection." I answered, "With my luck, I will!" I think she may still be in Dallas. Family Circle: How can you reprogram yourself?
Dyer: Before you go to bed, create an image of what you want for yourself; then act as if you are who you want to be. Catch yourself verbalizing self-defeating thoughts, stop labeling yourself, and take time just to be.
Family Circle: And how do you do all that?
Dyer: You quiet your mind. On average, a person has 60,000 separate thoughts a day. We're thinking too much! As an ancient proverb says, "It's the silence between the notes that makes the music." So get quiet. Meditate; go for a walk; listen to the birds, the ocean. Breathe in the fresh air and allow your mind to let go.
Family Circle: can just hear workaholics saying they don't have the time to do that.
Dyer: If you don't take time for being healthy, you'll eventually have to make time for being sick. You can meditate for two minutes at a red light. Just close your eyes, take a deep breath, and clear your mind. The person behind you will let you know when your two minutes a re up!
Family Circle: What are the signs of inner peace?
Dyer: People who have a sense of peace tend to smile, feel compassion, and enjoy the moment. They lose interest in conflict, and they don't worry!
Family Circle: You often say, "Stop worrying because there's nothing to worry about." How can that be?
Dyer: It makes no sense to worry about things you have no control over because there's nothing you can do about them, and why worry about things you do control? The activity of worrying keeps you immobilized.
Family Circle: So the next time you're tossing and turning in bed . . . ?
Dyer: My teacher in India always said, "First think of God, whatever God means to you. Think of the universal force that allows an acorn to turn into an oak tree or a blossom to become an orange." The moment you bring spiritual energy to the present, worry and anguish dissolve.
Family Circle: Other than yourself, do you know anyone who has mastered this?
Dyer: I don't know that I hav e! I've got eight kids and I struggle with the same things most people do. I've dealt with marital problems and addictions. What I've learned is to remind myself that all I have is today. That helps me shift my attention to what's good and right.
Family Circle: You always say that forgiveness is a dramatic way to transform a life. Forgiving your father for abandoning his family was a turning point for you.

Dyer: After he died, I went to my father's grave and told him, I don't know what motivated you to run your life as you did, but I forgive you. Afterward I felt a deep sense of relief and peace. Forgiveness is transforming. I use the metaphor of the snake bite. It is not the bit that kills you; it's the venom. When you hold a grudge, the poisons of anger and blame destroy you. Your heart weakens, your blood pressure rises, you get ulcers. It wrecks your health, makes you miserable.
Family Circle: And when you forgive . . .
Dyer: . . . miracles begin to appear in your life because forg iveness heals. It's the core of every great spiritual teaching - from Jesus and Buddha to Gandhi and Mother Teresa.
Family Circle: You also recommend the art of detachment, calling it "one of life's great lessons." What do you mean?
Dyer: I mean detach from the opinions of others; from the habit of judging or controlling others; from the past; from the need to be right and to win; from an obsession with material things. Follow your passion in life, but detach from the outcome and allow the universe to handle the details.
Family Circle: So, as we usher in 2003, what would you say is the key to achieving happiness?
Dyer: When you dance, your purpose is not to get to a certain place on the floor. It's to enjoy each step along the way. That's what life is. There's no way to happiness. Happiness is the way. It's what you bring to life.

What does it take to be a success

Success is a Decision, Not a Destination
What does it take to be a success? I have spent a lot of time asking myself that question. I heard some good definitions before, but my favorite comes from Tom Hopkins. Here is my translation.
* Success is the worthwhile pursuit of a predetermined goal.
Short and sweet, but very to the point. Too many people think success is something we have to wait for. We only have to wait for success if we choose to wait for it. Becoming a success is as easy as making a choice you know you’re going to stick too. I have a line I love to say that goes like this.
* Success is a Decision, Not a Destination.
This simply means that once you have made up your mind to reach a goal, you are already successful because you will achieve that goal. Also remember that goals are dreams with deadlines, so make sure you assign a time the goal has to be accomplished by. You can’t just say someday I’ll lose weight. That’s not a goal, that’s an opinion, and a poor one at that. Instead, say something like this: With in 6 months I’m going to lose 50 pounds. Now you have a target and a deadline. Team those up with persistence and you have a powerful, magical, wonderful combination.
You are instantly a success because you can’t fail. Failure is never permanent, and success is always achievable. What great thing would you do if you knew that you couldn’t fail? Would you write a novel, start a business? Or how about not smoking anymore. As a quick aside, I’d like to talk about quitting smoking and relate to you a funny observation I heard by Dr. Wayne Dyer. He was talking about chocolate, but smoking will be just the same.
Is it easier to smoke or not smoke? Dr. Dyer says that not smoking requires less effort. If you want to smoke you have to work to earn the money to buy them, you have to drive to the store and pick them out, you have to pack the tobacco to ensure good flavor, you have to open the package, flip the lucky, take one out, put it between your lips, light it, smoke it, throw away the butt, and put awa y the pack. All just so you can do it again in a few minutes. Compare that to not smoking. All you have to do is not smoke. That’s it! So is it easier to smoke or not smoke? I guess it depends on how you look at it.
I hope to convey a central theme with this article. You are a success once you set a goal. A goal has a deadline and must be accomplished. Success is a decision, not a destination. By the time you reach your goal, you’ve already been living as a successful person. Thinking of yourself as a success now will make you finish your goal, because you will become what you think you are. Successful people meet their goals and do great things and with your new decision you’re now a successful person.

Rosa Parks

(February 4, 1913 – October 24, 2005)

Rosa Louise McCauley Parks was an African American seamstress and civil rights activist whom the U.S. Congress dubbed the "Mother of the Modern-Day Civil Rights Movement". Parks is famous for her refusal on December 1, 1955 to obey bus driver James Blake's demand that she give up her seat to a white passenger. Her subsequent arrest and trial for this act of civil disobedience triggered the Montgomery Bus Boycott, one of the largest and most successful mass movements against racial segregation in history, and launched Martin Luther King, Jr., one of the organizers of the boycott, to the forefront of the civil rights movement. Her role in American history earned her an iconic status in American culture, and her actions have left an enduring legacy for civil rights movements around the world.

Music: Music, that generates relaxing and happy feelings, has the power to be particularly uplifting. Music is a great way to prevent anxiety, loneliness, and sadness. Some of the better music for Yoga can also be played when you are commuting from one point to the next.
If you shop for Yoga music CD’s, you may also want to try an audio book, in CD format, about Yoga, self-help, or self-improvement. Some of these CD’s can be played many times and can create a positive frame of mind.

Major Characteristics of A Strategic Thinker

Let’s begin with a definition of strategic thinking so we are all on the same page before reading the article. Strategic thinking is the way people think about, assess, view and create the future for themselves and others. It is much more than responding and reacting to both day-to-day and long-term problems, opportunities and new realities. It is proactive, not reactive and focuses on creating a better future and adding value. Strategic thinking always involves change and imagining the results we can achieve in the future.

So what makes a strategic thinker? What are some of the major characteristics of a strategic thinker? Here are eight (8) major characteristics of strategic thinkers from my perspective as a strategic thinking business coach.

Characteristic #1: possess the ability to move out of their comfort zone and use new and broader boundaries for thinking, planning, performing, analyzing and evaluating and continuous improvement.

Characteristic #2: are very passionate abou t what they do. They have a deep source of energy and motivation.

Characteristic #3: are life-long learners are driven to teach others and share what they have learned.

Characteristic #4: differentiate between the ends (what) and the means (how). They define and plan results at multiple levels before deciding how to achieve the results.

Characteristic #5: are risk takers. They do not limit themselves by current paradigms. They are comfortable investing and risking today’s time for tomorrow’s potential benefit.

Characteristic #6: possess the ability to develop a vision and then use that vision as the foundation for strategic thinking and planning.

Characteristic #7: continuously keep working, connecting and communicating because they never take their success for granted.

Characteristic #8: are will to develop outrageous and extraordinary objectives that define the desired results in measurable terms.

Sigmund Freud

Sigmund Freud (born Sigismund Schlomo Freud) May 6, 1856 – September 23, 1939; was an Austrian neurologist and psychiatrist who co-founded the psychoanalytic school of psychology. Freud is best known for his theories of the unconscious mind, especially involving the mechanism of repression; his redefinition of sexual desire as mobile and directed towards a wide variety of objects; and his therapeutic techniques, especially his understanding of transference in the therapeutic relationship and the presumed value of dreams as sources of insight into unconscious desires.

He is commonly referred to as "the father of psychoanalysis" and his work has been highly influential — popularizing such notions as the unconscious, defense mechanisms, Freudian slips and dream symbolism — while also making a long-lasting impact on fields as diverse as literature (Kafka), film, Marxist and feminist theories, literary criticism, philosophy, and psychology. However, his theories remain controversial and widely disputed.

Cognitive Science

Cognitive science is the interdisciplinary study of the cognitive processes underlying the acquisition and use of knowledge. It draws from converging evidence and methodology of diverse fields, including psychology, neuroscience, philosophy, computer science, anthropology and linguistics. The term cognitive science was coined by Christopher Longuet-Higgins in his 1973 commentary on the Lighthill report, which concerned the then-current state of Artificial Intelligence research. In the same decade, the journal Cognitive Science and the Cognitive Science Society began. Levels of Analysis One of the central principles of systemics applied in the symbolic approach to cognitive science is that (1) there are different Levels of Analysis (LOA) from which the brain and mind can be studied, and (2) mental phenomena are best studied from multiple levels of abstraction. For example, these levels are broken into three (not well separated) groups, based on Marr's description of them: Computational (Behavioral) level: describes the directly observable output (or behavior) of a system. Algorithmic (Functional) level: describes how information is processed to produce the behavioral output. Implementational (Physical) level: describes the physical substrate that the system consists of (e.g. the brain; neurons).

Psychology of Religion

Psychology is an academic and applied discipline involving the scientific study of mental processes, emotion, personality, behavior, and relationships. Psychology also refers to the application of such knowledge to various spheres of human activity, including problems of individuals' daily lives and the treatment of mental health problems.
Psychology differs from the other social sciences — anthropology, economics, political science, and sociology — in seeking to explain the thinking, emotion and behaviour of individuals, couples, families and other social groups.
Psychology differs from biology and neuroscience in that it is primarily concerned with mind rather than brain, in other words experience and behaviour rather than brain structure or chemistry. However, the subfield of neuropsychology studies the actual neural processes and how these relate to the mental and experiential phenomena. It is clear that our life experience influences our brain states and vice-versa in complex ways.
Knowledge is what is known. Like the related concepts truth, belief, and wisdom, there is no single definition of knowledge on which scholars agree, but rather numerous theories and continued debate about the nature of knowledge.

Knowledge acquisition involves complex cognitive processes: perception, learning, communication, association, and reasoning. The term knowledge is also used to mean the confident understanding of a subject, potentially with the ability to use it for a specific purpose.
The word psychology comes from the ancient Greek ???? psyche ("soul," "mind") and -????a -ology ("study").

The Powers Of The Mother Of Pearl

By: Jakob Jelling Oriental and Chinese cultures as well as many occidental ones follow traditions based on the belief that some precious stones have important symbolisms and powers. The mother of pearl is one of them, and it is often used for feng shui practitioners in order to attract a benefit towards a strategic house point or to improve a specific life area. Some stones are believed to have the power of attracting happiness or love to the life of whom carries them or keep them in their homes. The way in which a stone is seen and what it symbolizes depends not only on its type but also on the way it is used and seen by each specific culture and the traditions behind it.

Usually, in many occidental cultures the symbolism of a stone is followed by wearing it as a ornament and jewelry, while in many oriental cultures and mainly the Chinese one, these stones are often used in symbolic objects which are strategically placed in the house. This way, stones depend on the way they are used and to which kind of object they are added to in order to have their meaning and to attract specific benefits. According to the oriental traditions and the Chinese culture, the mother of pearl is a very symbolic stone. This symbolism is based on the belief that mother of pearl attracts wealth and a better income to the person who keeps it. This way, many feng shui and Chinese objects which symbolize money and wealth contain this stone in order to improve its powers. Besides attracting wealth and money, the mother of pearl also symbolizes prosperity and good luck. This way, it is often given as a present in order to wish good luck to a friend or a loved one in some circumstances such as when that person is going to travel or will go through a very important exam among many other situations. Besides this, by simply carrying a symbolic item containing mother of pearl, a person's good luck and prosperity would become highly improved and enhanced.

Learn Something Everyday

Brainology... Let's Start Learning Something Everyday, Every Moment
By Usman ParachaEvery normal human being learn in his life’s each and every minute. He is gaining experience every moment. If he starts transcribing his thoughts daily (once a day) in his life, he will gain a huge progress in the small time. There are 24 hours in a whole day and night. These 24 hours contain 1440 minutes. And these 1440 minutes contain 86400 seconds. And in these 86400 you are thinking something or creating something or imagining something i.e., using your brain in some way. One research has proved that using your brain in some way will increase your mental abilities in other respects also. For example, if you are imagining something your power to create new things will also increase along with imagination and similar for other aspects.Let’s make a list of the things which you can do in your leisure time. For example, if after playing or coming from some work you want some rest then don’t waste this rest. Close your eyes and start thinking of some very beautiful place. This will give you the following benefits:1. You will feel good.2. you will feel some energy.3. You will find inspiration to do more4. Tiredness will be reduced to much extent. You know our brain can do a lot of things. A short list of those things are as follows:<1>.Imagination (a). Vivid imagination (A highly developed form of imagination which gives clear view)(b). Visual imagination ( Which is perceptible by the mind’s eye)(c). Fertile imagination (Also is a kind of creativity)(d). Bold imagination (Give you power to do anything which you want)(e). Wild imagination (Giving you some enthusiasm)(f). Fervid imagination (A kind of imagination giving your heart some heat and passion)(g). Lively imagination (As if you are looking some animation or some film in highly developed form)
<2>.Creativity(a). Inventiveness (Displaying creativity)(b). Originality (Newness i.e., making something new and original)<3>.Memory (Ability to retain knowledge)(a). Retentiveness (Able to retain something. A highly developed form of memory)(b). Retention (Holding in of something)(c). Tenacious memory (Able to remember many things)(d). Capacious memory (Able to hold a large amount of information for a specific time and place)(e). Correct memory (Able to modify according to particular situations. Not much developed form. Every one can have)(f). Exact memory (A form of correct memory)(g). Photographic memory ( A memory as accurate as a photograph..A highly developed form of memory)(h). Eidetic memory ( Recalled with a wonderful accuracy. A highly developed form of memory)(i). Ready memory ( A form of correct memory)(j). Prompt memory (Memory able to make the mind to be mold according to previous situation immediately without any delay. A highly developed form of correct memory)(k). Race memory (Particular to a group of people)<4>.Thinking (Imagination is actually a form of thinking)<5>.Reasoning ( In some cases is a form of creativity)<6>.Concentration<7>.Consciousness<8>.Observation<9>.PlanningIn fact, there is an infinite list of things which can be done by our mind.If we start working on a particular point from the above mentioned points. We will start learning more and more every day and every moment and developing our mind according to our intentions.

Why Is Your Happiness Important

by: Deanna Mascle Have you ever wondered where you fall on the happiness scale? Are most people happier or less happy than you are? According to a Scripps Howard/Ohio University survey of 1,007 U.S. adults, about 52 percent of Americans say they are "very happy" with their lives, with 43 percent reporting they are "fairly happy," 3 percent said they are "not too happy" and 2 percent undecided. In Britain, Gallup polls show that only 36 percent claim they are "very happy" which is down from 52% in 1957.

Now that you know, I want to tell you that simply do not matter. Many people who are not to happy or only fairly happy struggle with personal happiness simply because they do not rate their personal happiness as very important. However, our personal happiness is very important and should rate among your top priorities. In fact, it really is not selfish to consider your own happiness as your top priority for the following three reasons. You are important It is true. You are an important person. I don't care about your profession, employment status, or income. You are important. Look back at your past. Think about how different the world around you might be if you had not been born. How has your life impacted others? Don't dismiss small contributions as unimportant because the truth is that it is often these many small changes that lead to a greater good. Now think about your life right now.

How many people depend on you among your family, friends, and community? If you stayed in bed tomorrow how many lives would be impacted by your absence? Now think about your future. What potential exists for your life to impact the lives of others? Think about your home and family, your friends and community, and your professional life. Don't think about probabilities but rather possibilities. You have the potential to change many lives just by being you and living your life. You are important because you are the sum total of all these effects: your past, your present, and your future. What you have done, what you are doing, and what you can do in the future are all the elements that make you an important and valuable person who deserves to be happy.

Your happiness affects your family and friends While your family and friends should not depend on you to make them happy it is very true that if you are unhappy you can make it much more difficult for others around you to be happy. There is an old saying that frequently crops up on sit-coms and tee shirts, "If Momma Ain't Happy, Ain't Nobody Happy." This is often good for a laugh but we all know it is true. If a parent is unhappy then often the rest of the household will be unhappy too. It only take one bad apple to spoil the whole barrel, as another old saying goes, and this is true whenever any group of humans gathers together. If one friend or family member is not happy then their unhappiness can spread to infect the others in the group. You deserve to be happy for yourself but you should also strive for happiness so if you are going to spread a mood then it will be a good one. Your happiness affects the world How many times have you been simply going through life, not really in a good or bad mood, and then someone took a moment to give you a smile. What happened to your mood? Did you smile back?

Another old saying is that smiles are contagious and this may be a very powerful argument for your own personal happiness. Can you imagine possessing the power to spread smiles? You do not need to imagine it because you already possess that power. You simply need to get yourself into the habit of smiling. Smile at your loved ones, smile at your friends, and smile at strangers on the street, and soon you will be making a strong contribution to making the world a happier place. Your happiness is important because you are a significant person, your mood impacts your family and friends, and your happiness affects the world.

Allowing And The Law Of Attraction

by: Wendy Betterini As we learn more about using the Law of Attraction consciously in our lives, we become masters at visualizing, affirming, and attracting what we desire. We learn how to infuse our desires with emotion and power, we learn how to raise our vibrations through joyful thoughts and align ourselves more fully with the circumstances we want to bring about. However, most of us forget one crucial step in the process: allowing. Allowing is a multi-faceted phase in the creation process, and it can be confusing for those of us who haven't had much exposure to the concepts. In generations past, hard work was a way of life. In some cases, it was the ONLY way of life. Like many of you, I come from a long line of hard workers: Maine lobstermen and fishermen, lighthouse keepers, factory workers, seamstresses, midwives, housekeepers, and public servants.

My ancestors were proud of their ability to roll up their sleeves and put in a hard day's work to keep food on the table and clothing on their children's backs. Hard work was simply a fact of life, not something to be resented, just something that must be done, like breathing or sleeping when the sun went down. Through the examples of my forebears, I was taught that nothing comes freely in life. If I want something, it's up to me to put my nose to the grindstone and work for it. This isn't a bad thing, and I don't want to diminish the accomplishments of those who paved the way for us. However, the more deeply we delve into Law of Attraction principles, the more we realize that there is another way. Some would call it a better way, but let us see it simply as an alternate path to a similar destination. What is this alternate path? ALLOWING. As we just covered, action is needed at the beginning stages of conscious creation. We know we need to visualize our desires, affirm our belief in a new reality, raise our vibrations (thoughts) and come into alignment with the end result so it can manifest in our lives. What most of us do then is take further action to encourage our new circumstances to form physically. We might work harder to make more money, or we might join a dating service to meet the partner of our dreams.

There is nothing wrong with these actions, except the belief that we need to "do" anything to make our desires manifest. That's where allowing comes in. What if, after we've visualized, affirmed, and expressed our desires to the universe, we simply let go? What happens then? Most of us are under the impression that nothing would happen. Ah, but we can ALLOW the universe to manifest exactly what we desire. That's the beauty of the Law of Attraction. We don't HAVE to make things happen, we can simply allow the universe to deliver our desires fully formed and neatly wrapped in a beautiful package with a bow on top. So how do we allow? There are three key parts to allowing: 1) Let go of the "how." This seems to contradict the creation process, because isn't the whole point to control the outcome? It may seem so at the beginning, but as most of us go along, we eventually realize that the more we try to control the outcome, the less circumstances seem to work in our favor. By consciously letting go of HOW the universe will manifest our wishes, we affirm that our desired outcome is already a done deal.

There's no need to beg, manipulate, or control the situation because it already exists in perfect form. We simply need to let go and trust that the universe will deliver it to us in the most beautiful and beneficial way possible. 2) Let go of the "when." This is one of the most difficult things to do because we want what we want right NOW. We don't want to wait for divine timing or anything else. Unfortunately, our very impatience can delay the process. Why? Because by wanting it right now, we place emphasis on the "wanting." Remember, we create what we focus on the most! If we focus on wanting, we create more want. By affirming that our desires will manifest at exactly the right time, we automatically focus more on trust and faith. We believe that our deepest heart's desires are on their way to us, and guess what happens? They come more quickly. 3) Appreciate. It can be hard to appreciate what we have when we're not happy with our lives, but once again, it's all about what we focus on and what we attract. The more appreciative we can be about our existing circumstances, the more we will attract things to appreciate. If you have to, start with something small and obvious. Each morning when you awake, say something like, "I appreciate the opportunity to live another day. I appreciate the bed I slept in all night.

I'm grateful that I can take a hot shower and put on clean clothes today." As you go about your day, take a moment to appreciate everything you can, no matter how small and insignificant it may seem. Over time, this puts you in a gratitude mindset and will begin to attract more and more things to appreciate - and more often than not, those things continue to get bigger and bigger the more you keep up with this practice. So, does this mean that we never have to work hard again? We can just sit back and "allow" the universe to give us everything we want? Yes, and no. There is one more important point that ties in to the concept of allowing, and that is taking inspired action. Occasionally, after we have expressed our desires to the universe and we've begun "allowing" them into our lives, the universe will provide a way for US to bring about what we want, rather than simply plopping it into our laps fully formed. In this case, we will usually feel a nudge in a certain direction. We might be inspired to start a business, buy a lottery ticket, attend a lecture, read a particular book, or any number of other actions.

If we act immediately on these nudges, circumstances usually shift and opportunities appear. These opportunities usually create an opening that can help us to manifest our desires simply and easily, and often quickly. However, remember that inspired action shouldn't be painful or difficult. It should feel wonderful and inspiring. You will feel excited about it, and eager to do it. That's how you can tell whether you are being inspired to take a particular action, rather than feeling like you "have to" do it in order to get what you want. Simply let go, relax, and allow the creation process to unfold exactly as it will. If you feel inspired to act, act. If not, just trust that the universe has your highest good in mind. Believe that, and let it guide your every step!

Acknowledging the Existence of Your Soul

By: John Sherman Talking about your “soul” and the deeper things in life is so frequently considered as spun out or weird in modern, take-away-eating, order-it-on-the-internet life, but if you are one of these people, you’ll find that letting go of socialistic trends like these will free you in a way that you simply cannot be freed in a materialists world. The end result is inner peace that no material possession could ever come close to. No, really. How do I acknowledge its existence? It starts by simply observing your own nature, or the actions and reactions you exhibit to different situations. Your thoughts from day to day, loves and hates, etc. Ask questions. Not about the happenings of creation, but internal questions. Question your nature, and in doing so you will gain a greater knowledge of self. Your soul is the part of you that makes you unique. Remember, your body is quite common. There are over 6 billion examples on the planet at this particular point in time, and at least on a biological level, they all function in the same way.

It is your mind that separates you from those around you, and mind is manifest. Your mind is your souls mind, and your strongest link to your soul. Meditate. It's simple. Just quiet yourself and allow thoughts to bubble to the surface. Don’t dwell on them. Let them go and move on. Clearing your mind will open your eyes to the existence of your own soul and those of the people around you. To be conscious of your soul is to be on a higher level of consciousness. Why would I want to acknowledge its existence? To put it simply, the world we live in is at least as spiritual as it is physical. If you are confined within the boundaries of just one then you are missing out on at least half of what life has to offer. By simply acknowledging your soul, you're enabling yourself to become aware of the greater things in creation and life. So many people move around from day to day only believing what they see and hear around them.

Life to these people is temporary. Their meaning is to acquire as many physical possessions as possible, as this life -- consisting of but one lifetime -- has no definite meaning and hence they are forever filled with a sense of why. Why am I here? Why do I feel empty? Why do I have everything yet have nothing at the same time? Those who make happiness and the betterment of the spirit the central goal of their life can recognise the fact that there is more to life than the physical sense of the word. This brings a 3rd dimension to life, which is more than emotions can express. It is a bliss that surrounds you from day to day, when you realise that there is something else out there. Meaning starts to appear in what you do day-to-day. People who are unaware of their spiritual side and focus on the attainment of possessions as their central goal hardly experience a moment of contentment, and when they are confronted with the fact that their lives seem to be meaningless they are cast into a pit of despair.

If they had been aware of their spiritual side then their minds would be more evolved to see that life is just a series of lessons, educating you in the subtle laws of creation and bringing about an understanding of your own nature. Nothing more, nothing less. So, acknowledging the existence of your soul enables you to bring meaning to your life -- even where there are no material possessions. You soon see that you don’t need material possessions to advance on a spiritual level as it is what's inside of you that does the growing, not what's on the outside. Letting go of the material confines of society and allowing yourself to believe that there is a deeper side of life -- and that it's ok to believe that this will grant you inner peace -- will truly help you find a solid grounding of happiness and calmness that you may never before have experienced.
