From Longing to Living

What are you doing? I mean it. What are you doing and why?

Are you just doing what you think will get you ahead in life? Out of your current stuck rut? Everybody breathe...again, and deeper. Now one more time...

I used to hate it when therapists, coaches, yoga teachers etc. would do all these breathing exercises during my time with them. "What a waste" I used to think...can't we just "Get on with things, I have a lot to do/discuss/process etc."

So here we are, breathing together and deeper. Slowing the swirling pace of life down. Being present in our bodies, in tune with our hearts, and anchored in our bellies. Yes, women, in the exact same place that babies are birthed, is where you too must birth your dreams, your desires, your dance with life.

I know that at numerous stages in my life, I've applied for so many things I didn't even want...but I sure thought I did at the time! This absurd pattern started with colleges. I kept applying to one university in particular, not because I liked the school or the city it was in, but because my friends were going there and it "sounded" good. Next, I'd go after guys that I wasn't truly interested in. (This is an article in and of itself!) After that I'd apply for jobs that I didn't really want. Those, of course, were easy to justify, "I needed to work" "It pays the bills" "It includes health insurance" "I should take this job" "It's a good opportunity" "It'll look good on my resume". Recently I found myself doing the SAME thing...

Going after things I thought I should do, sounded practical, could probably work out etc. Yesterday I decided to breathe...deeply. Today I decided to ONLY go after what I REALLY want. The people, projects and experiences that absolutely light me up! I have not taken a vow to be a martyr, and if you look close it could appear that way. (At least until yesterday!)

This whole "going for what I want idea" is interesting. It certainly is opposite to the way I was taught to live life. But many of the ways I've been taught don't work for me. So, today, it's me and God.

Closer than ever, going slower than ever. I'm breathing and asking, "what's next?"; versus being the CEO of rushing nowhere fast.

Today, I'm trusting that if I go for what I truly desire, it will feel good in my body and thrill my soul; and that is where God and I dance. I'm not taking a practical route! I'm jumping on the love train...loving myself, loving my God, and loving and trusting that I'm being directed to where I will be used for His purpose. It is in this divine joy that I switch from longing to living. Here are the 7 steps to go after what you really want:

1. Stop, breathe deeply and be present. 2. Let your desire surface. 3. Trust that extraordinary experiences and provision boardare meant for you. 4. Give yourself permission to go for what you REALLY want. 5. Start having FUN with your life. 6. Call 3 people and share with them the great news of what you're doing. 7. Get to work...your life is waiting for you to arrive!

What does the Law of Balance have to do with the Law of Attraction
Our minds shape our surroundings

Why?

I have never in my life written a poem before. I am far from the poetry type. This just came to me this morning while working on my real estate book. I consider it a gift.

Why?

We come to this earth with our notepads so clear.

And so we are born knowing no fear.

The worlds a stage, for us to perform.

Our life stories so great, so far from the norm.

We see things as they are, instead of should be

The moon, the stars, the winds, and the trees.

There is no illusion, in the space between ears,

We experience life, with laughter and tears.

Things start to change, the world on our heads,

No sleeping at night, but not because of our beds.

Our world hasnt changed, but somehow it has.

How did this happen? Why take this path?

Life is no longer in the here and the now,

Instead life is spent, with sweat on our brow.

Fearing the things we cannot even see,

Life is no longer about the wind and the trees.

Life has become one thing or another,

Time passing by, forgetting were lovers.

Loving our lives, that we once had.

Now just pages in time, the passing of sand.

Without even knowing life has passed by,

So many mistakes, why even try?

The world never changed, only in my head.

Why did I believe it? So close to dead.

Oh, what I would give, to go back to me?

And meet for a chat under that tree.

Personal Goal Setting and the Law of Attraction

We have been taught that if we need to accomplish a dream, task or project we need to set goals. When setting a goal we normally include specific dates, times and if money is concerned the amount we would like to achieve. For example, let's say you are a salesperson that would like to earn an extra $3,000 from additional sales by January 31.

You have already used the Law of Attraction in your thought pattern and released a vibration out to the universe that this is your wish. The good thing about goal setting is that it is a tool that draws energy and vibration to your goal, causing deliberate intention to the desired outcome. Creating a goal also allows you to have a clear intention of what steps are needed to reach your final destination.

The Law of Attraction can help you to achieve your dreams. You have already put your goal in motion, so you have initiated the first step. You should have already laid out daily written goals up to the date that you expect to reach that goal. You should implement the following into your schedule:

1.Write down an affirmation that describes what you would like to accomplish, include how you feel about your goal. Write in terms that you have already accomplished your goal; give your goal a timeline and amount. For example; I feel so happy that I have satisfied my goal and made an extra $3,000 in commission from sales made in the month of January 2007.

2.When you have written your affirmation, does the wording satisfy you? Or do you feel that there is something missing? If so, re-write your affirmation until you feel on a scale of 1-10 (10 being the highest most positive feeling, and 1 being the lowest) that you have achieved a 10 and feel good when you read your affirmation.

3.Read your affirmation daily and feel the experience from it, as though it has been accomplished. This is very important because not only are you feeding your conscious by reading the words, you are also aligning your affirmation and goal with your unconscious mind when you feel the experience.

4.At the end of each day take a look at your daily goals and write down your successes and failures. How did you feel about your successes? How do you rate your successes (1-10)? What about your failures? How would you have tackled the task differently? Also rate your failures (1-10).

You should note your failures and why you didnt accomplish those particular tasks. It may be because its a task that you dont enjoy but know that it has to be done to complete the goal. Maybe try to tackle this particular task first so that you can get it over with and out of the way. Turn the failures into successes and look at them in a positive light as a process for fulfilling your goal.

Remember whatever you have in your life presently is the environment you attracted. Make a decision to change, dont limit yourself by I cant, or this wont work. Turn the negatives in positives and strive to do your best then you will truly succeed.

Achieving your dreams is a journey, don't put off tomorrow what you can do today. Put forth your best effort in achieving all you want from life. Sales Success- You're Only A List Away!

When I was in sales management with Time-Life, wed assign calling lists to reps before every shift.

I want Canoga Park! one seller would shout.

Is there any Mar Vista left?

Just give me something that hasnt been called a million times, another would wisely request.

Lists were, and still are, a big deal.

And while, as a manager, Id downplay their influence on sales outcomes, because, after all, there is only so much Malibu to call, in my gut I knew, and still appreciate that a good list is a gold mine.

Lists are powerful for several reasons, apart from the potentially pre-qualified nature of the names youll find on them.

For one thing, they organize your work and address the show stopping and time wasting question: Who can I call next?

Though we want to come across to prospects as spontaneous and not robotic, still, having an assembly line of callable people right in front of us optimizes the clock, reducing downtime, while discouraging us from dwelling on the ones we failed to close.

Lists are also momentum builders. When youre hot you ARE hot, and having the next name to call enables you to carry that confidence you just earned over to the next contact.

Lists are also slump-busters. As Ive noted in my Nightingale-Conant audio series, The Law of Large Numbers, if you do enough of anything youll succeed.

Do still more and youll grow rich.

Outdo that, and youll become a legend.

Lists enable you to reach the greatest number of prospects in the least time, so theyre productivity tools, like no others.

But all lists arent equivalent, and well discuss the difference between smart ones and dumb ones in a subsequent article.

A Simple Cure For Anxiety And Depression

Our innate desire is to be happy, and when we move away from it, we experience fear.

This fear is actually millions of years old, for it arises from the biological programming of our species.

While we may not have to contend with a sabre-toothed tiger on any given day, we still use those very reactions to deal with events looming ahead.

We think, Will I be fired for making that mistake at work? or Will I be able to meet the mortgage after I fix the car? or Will my health continue to decline? or Will my relationship fall apart after that argument we just fell into?

Running questions with this type of urgency and helplessness trains our brains to prepare now for future danger by loading our bodies up with the stress hormone cortisol.

Anxiety is our anticipation of a dangerous future. We imagine having even less of the little that we have today.

This anxiety does not help us in any way to meet the future any better. In fact, it weakens and exhausts us. We usually worry most about things that we can't even control. Worrying about your dental visit, for example, will not make the visit better.

Anxiety, in fact, is a silent killer. It is enervating, and it drains you of purpose and hope, faith and initiative. It fogs up your thinking. And it makes the body susceptible to illness.

When anxiety--a fear of an event in the future--is high enough then you feel a deep sense of helplessness. This, in turn, translates into depression. You even begin to view the past as disappointing.

Caught between a miserable past and a frightening future you create a pattern of emotions that can lead to a variety of mood disorders, including manic-depression.

How do we escape from this vicious cycle?

Here is what I did 20 years ago and I have never since suffered from any serious mood disorder.

I started to cultivate my awareness of my mood swings--from elation to black despair.

I did this by basically watching myself when I was manic, and watching myself when I was depressed, and watching what I did to turn on these states. For example to get depressed, I used my love of literature to focus on dark, morbid, and unhappy stories about life. And to get elated, I would talk a lot, move very quickly, and do things in a dramatic way.

An interesting thing happened when I made my unconscious behavior conscious. I could not take my mood shifts seriously.

This is what I learned from that experience: when you are able to observe yourself over the course of a few weeks, you develop a curious detachment.

A paradoxical situation developed for me: I found it difficult to stay anxious and depressed when I was observing myself feeling anxious and depressed.

Ultimately, anxiety and depression are culturally-induced patterns of thinking that can be overcome through a deliberate cultivation of awareness. When you become your own observer, you weed out the unconscious habits that afflict you.

Despite the billions of dollars spent to heal anxiety and depression, and all the mood disorders and behavioral anomalies that arise from them, the cure is simple, quick, and free.

The Dirty Dozen

With twenty plus years of self employment in a variety of fields and the last several as a business coach, I can assure you I have either seen or lived thru all of these mistakes. It will take you only minutes to read but if you are starting a business it can save you years of strife. Below are 12 things I hope you will avoid in your pursuit to succeeding as an entrepreneur.

1) No Umbrella Business Plan or Strategy -- Without a plan, theres no serious way to gauge the growth and progress of your business. You need a realistic map for where the customers will come from and where your business is going. You also need a plan to bail you out when difficult personal and business times come your way. Solution get a plan together. Stop thinking about it and do it.

2) Getting Tunnel Vision and Never Leaving the Tunnel -- Many entrepreneurs get an idea, move forward with the preparation but never seem to be able to make it work. In fact at times they will hold so tightly to the idea that they will lose all their money, sometimes their family and ultimately their business. The sad result is they often lose the one thing that pushed them to begin with their confidence. Without the confidence the likelihood of another run at self-employment diminishes. If the ship is sinking dont go down with it. Get out while you are still able to breathe. Once youve caught your breath, re-evaluate, learn from the experience and dive back in. Solution ask for some advice from other business people. Be honest with them and get some feedback. If you can afford it, hire a business coach.

3) **Make your business your business and your charity your charity.** Beginning entrepreneurs nearly always make the mistake of giving away the store. They give discounts to the first customers they receive as if to impress or court them. Often these customers are friends and family. Unfortunately, during these critical times an entrepreneur cannot afford to do this. He or she is only cultivating cheap clients that will never want to pay the going price for services or products. Additionally these are the times when cash flow is at a minimum. As a business consultant I often get bothered that friends and family fail to see this. The early years is when those close to you should be paying you more, not less for your product/service. Unfortunately, many people are under the false impression that if someone has their own business they must be wealthy. Solution - when conducting business charge your full rate to everyone. If you want to be charitable, write a check to your favorite charity. Or alternately be creative in how you handle these discounts.

For example, in my mobile entertainment business I told those I knew, that if they got married on a Thursday Id do it for free however my Fridays and Saturdays are limited to just 52 times a year. If I dont get my rates on these days I pass up income that I need to sustain my home and business.

4) Not Knowing Your Customers -- We live in a dynamic world. Constant changes mean that business too is always changing and in some way, large or small, your customers are changing. There are countless examples where companies both large and small fail to see the publics changing direction. Changes in your customers preferences and your competitors products and services can leave you eating dust. You need to know your customers well. What are their buying patterns? Where do they live? How often do they visit you? Why dont they need you more often? What are they saying about your services or products? How do your customers perceive themselves? Solution Make a point to call each customer on a regular schedule to see if there is anything they need or any improvements they see you can make.

5) Ignoring Your Financial Situation -- Whether you have a lot of money or a little, you need to know where you are at financially. Many entrepreneurs will turn a blind eye toward their financial situation. They will deny they are losing money and/or failing to get paid. It goes without saying, that entrepreneurs are typically more confident people with positive outlooks. This is not only their strength but at times it can be their weakness. When buying things for your business ask yourself, will this make me more money or not? If not, realize the need is really a want. Numbers dont lie, so dont find a way to make them lie. Solution have a third party keep your books so you can get a true picture of where you are at financially.

6) Ignoring Employees -- Employees are an extension of your company. They represent you to the public -- for better or worse. They can make or break your business. It does not take a genius to figure out that if you fail to treat your employees with respect they will fail to treat your business with respect as well. After all they cant fire you but they sure can treat your clients in a manner that is far from beneficial to your business. Solution incorporate a weekly meeting with your employee/s. Be sure to keep the meetings positive and welcoming for everyone.

7) Being the Lonely Martyr - Many entrepreneurs fall prey to their own picky, control freak problems. They never trust or let go responsibility in fear that it wont be as good. The truth is it probably wont be. The reality is however as an entrepreneur you are in business to make money. If you have employees then you need to use them to multiply your efforts as best you can. Solution breathe, and again, breathe now relax and resign to the fact you are not the global manager of the universe.

8) No Short or Long Range Plans -- You may have heard the old adage that if you fail to plan, you plan to fail. Whether it is a business goal or a personal goal you must lay out your plans with an end goal in sight. Otherwise, as Zig Ziglar says, you will be a wandering generality not a meaningful specific. Many entrepreneurs go into business without a long range plan on where they want the company to go. You must have goals and execute them. Solution set goals and lay out strategies for all areas of your life. This is close to number one above but not identical.

9) No Mastermind - Find a businessperson you respect. One that has been in business for a long time and seek his or her advice when faced with tough decisions. Keep in mind youre still the ultimate decision maker, the one that has to live with the outcome. Be sure and weigh this opinion against your own thoughts too. Seek the wisdom that only years of experience can develop. Solution get one, youll be happy you did.

10) They Believe Their Own B.S. Need I say anymore? Solution - have a good friend or two tell you what it is youre not seeing. Preferably a friend with business experience. You see, friends often stay friends because they at some point accepted us for who we are despite our imperfections. Thats why they are our friends!

11) Quitting -- Unfortunately many entrepreneurs quit just when things are ready to soar. This is often because their plan didnt account for certain setbacks or enough time to realistically incubate a business. They typically run out of cash and motivation gets whipped by frustration. Solution - Keep your Day Job until your business, your mindset and your finances are relatively stable.

12) Ill Equipped - financially, educationally, resources etc. Solution learn, learn, learn and save, save, save.

The "What If... Why Not?" Game

We all know how much more productive, fun, and useful games are when used in conjunction with different situations in life. A game is entertaining and gets the message we are trying to pass on much easier, especially if the message is not an easy one. Now, using the Law of Attraction, one can see that as simple as it is, it is not at all that easy. There are 3 steps to the Law of Attraction that you must follow to be able to manifest that which your heart desires. In a simplified way they are: ask, get out of the way, and manifest.

The asking part is easy: you know exactly what you wish to be, do or have. There are many ways you can ask, the more effective being for instance, to write your list, to pray, to meditate and to visualize it. Then comes the hardest part: getting out of the way. This is nothing more nothing less than letting go of resistance. Nothing will happen if, in the back of your mind, you keep thinking that "this is not going to happen," "this happens only to other people," "who am I kidding," etc. You get out of the way by relaxing in the knowing that yes, if it happens to other people, it can happen to you as well. So again, the difficulty of this step lies in the fact that no matter how much you affirm that this can happen to you, if your "monkey mind" tells you otherwise, you will never be able to manifest it.

And finally, comes the second hardest part, the one in which you have to open to receive, you have to believe that you are worth of receiving, that you truly deserves receiving and that the manifestation of your desires is your birthright. Here again the point is to be able to believe that indeed you are a good person, no matter what people say, or used to say, about you and no matter how severely you criticize yourself. Enter the "What if Why Not?" game. The aim of this game is to simply help you with phases 2 and 3 of the Law of Attraction process. "What if" relates to the allowance, the get out of the way part. When you ask a question, you are not judging if it is going to work or not. You are just stating a possibility and there is no way your conscious mind will reject it. After all, it is just a conjecture.

Examples of "What if" questions:What if my credit cards are paid in full? What if I have a job that is really meaningful to me?What if I own a house in this great place? What if my body sheds those 30 extra pounds? What if the perfect partner happens in my life? See here that you are not putting yourself as doing the actionthe perfect partner, the beautiful house, the shedding of 30lbs, etc. This is done to open even more your doors your life's immense possibilities. After all, it is not you who are doing the work, but something else is about to manifest in your life. You know, it is one less ammunition to your conscious mind.

Now, the second question of the game is: "Why Not?" This one refers to the third part of the Law of Attraction process. When you ask this question, you are in fact saying: yeah, all right if this happens to other people, it can happen to me too. If others have their dream house, their perfect partners, their absolutely fantastic good jobs , a beautiful body, and so on, so can I. Why Not? Now you are open to receive. So now you can start to play the game immediately. Ask yourself: What if when I play this game I start opening myself to really manifest my deepest wishes? And conclude with: Why not?

Problems People Have With the Law of Attraction

The Law of Attraction seems so easy for some. Others try and try and have no success. They wonder why this should be true. There are some very good reasons why people have problems using the Law of Attraction.

The most obvious answer to the question of why it isn't working is that you might be expecting to instantaneously have what you ask for. You have to realize that you are simply sending out positive energy surrounding a subject. You must trust Law of Attraction to send it back to you in its time.

When trying to use the Law of Attraction, you may find that you are always tapping your foot and asking when it's going to happen for you. If you do, it may mean that you are not really coming into it believing in anything. You are just testing the waters and not willing to commit to anything.

You might also be expecting the answer to your demands to come by a certain method. For example, you might ask for money. You are hoping someone will just give it to you. This may be your idea of the Law of Attraction. However, if you are alert to the universe around you, you may come across another means.

An idea might come to you that would bring you the money you desire. It might involve some work, but the end result would be the same. If your energy is positive, you will look upon this circumstance with gratitude and joy. By the Law of Attraction, this can only multiply the good in your life.

Another mistake people make in using the Law of Attraction is to put too much emphasis on the evidence they see. When they see things that seem to prove that the Law of Attraction is not working, they quit believing. They get frustrated and become a mass of negative vibrations. This will bring more of the same.

The truth is that if they really understand the Law of Attraction and the science behind it, external evidence will have little effect on them. This is because they will have total belief and trust that the Law of Attraction has been working all along. What is happening in the beginning is only a manifestation of earlier bad energy.

Their new positive, focused thoughts, without doubt, will come to fruition in the future. This is the outlook of a person who has mastered the use of the Law of Attraction. That person will believe in the outcome because he/she believes in the process.

A person might also have problems fully using the Law of Attraction because their past outlook has been so limited. They have strong emotions about things they consider too hard to conquer or too much or too big to have.

When these emotions come up, it changes the energy you are sending out. Lecturers and writers of the Law of Attraction have developed ways to release such emotions. These methods allow the person to fully use the Law of Attraction.

If you properly use the Law of Attraction, you will have what you want. It is and isn't easy. You only need to change the way you think and feel about things. If you can come to understand the Law of Attraction fully, you can make it work for you.

Find out about the very exciting Law Of Attraction where we dissect and break down the various methods used in mastering the Law Of Attraction.

Ten Healing Questions

It's possible to bring forth the advanced capacities for healing and life transformation that already exist within. This advanced or higher mind has awesome healing powers, powers of love, wisdom, compassion, peace, light and more. When you reach this level of mind, you have the ability to release old patterns and transform your greatest negativities into enlightened understanding.

There is a great Sanskrit prayer, which says:

Lead us from darkness into light...
From the unreal to the real...
From death to immortality.
Om shanti, shanti, shanti.

The transformation of your consciousness means that you are able to uplift your understanding of existence. It means that there is a shift in the way you see and perceive. Healing, in fact, is the profound connection with the transformational power, the Healing Power itself. Our inner ills are the result of a lack of connection with these advanced qualities of being. When you get back in touch with them, healing takes place on every level.

Activating the Healing Qualities of Mind

You can ask yourself questions to unveil the transformational healing experiences in an life situation:

How can I heal this? Can I experience more love here?

Can I step back from this and see it in a different way, from another perspective?

Can I quiet my mind? Experience more peace?

Can I have more compassion here?

What am I learning from this?

Is there a particular part of myself that needs healing? What does that part of me need?

Is there a particular way I can release this?

Is this about my ego? Can I take any steps beyond this?

Can I experience more light here?

Can I forgive in this situation?

Asking and answering these questions can bring you self-knowledge, personal growth, and healing.

Never Give Up On Your Goals

What thoughts or emotions came over you as you read that? Never give up! Billionaire Philanthropist and Presidential Candidate H. Ross Perot said, Most people stop digging three feet from the goldmine. This is the wrong approach. There has to be certain aspects in place, such as goals, plans, visions, etc. However, for the most part, when these components are intact, success will come to you sooner or later.

Many people don't like the whole later possibility aspect, yet it can't be ignored. The important thing is that your dreams and goals will come to pass if you do not give up along the way. If you stop pursuit, you lose. Yet, if you adopt the attitude that I will not be denied, you really wont be denied. I'm not an expert on this, but I believe obstacles show up to help us become more resilient. Where you greatly desire to go, you can't be a wimp. You must be able to chew nails and breathe fire (figuratively speaking). Les Brown says it best. "You must trade in who you've been for who you must become." Wow! What a profound statement. Think about it. Look into the future and be brutally honest with yourself. What type of person must you be in the future in order to truly BE who you greatly desire to be?

What qualities and characteristics does that person possess that you do not currently possess? What do you particularly like about that person? Are they friendlier, healthier, more confident, a better leader? Thoroughly diagnose the ultimate you and the current you. When placed side by side, what changes must you make to become the ultimate you? Completing this exercise is very eye-opening.

One important thing that you will discover is the confident, resilient attitude that you really wont be denied. You are that warrior that chews nails and breathes fire, and loves every minute of it. Success requires a different mindset. A big part of that mindset is developing a never give up mentality. It is possible for you to complete each task you begin with that mentality. Giving up robs you of the joy thats sure to come as you check off tasks that youve completed on route to your goal.

Remember the words of Jack Canfield: You deserve to have your life exactly the way you want it. I believe that quote with everything within me. The challenge is to believe the quote and realize that it may take a year, or two, or three for your life to be exactly as planned. The question is do you give up along the way? I have confidence in you that you will make it through to the end.

How to Increase Your Energy

It takes more distress and poison to kill someone who has peace of mind and loves life." Bernie S. Siegel, M.D.

As a motivational speaker conducting leadership training and keynote speeches around the world, I'm often asked to combine the topic of leadership with "life balance" and stress management. Here are 15 easy tips that will help you increase your energy, enthusiasm and reduce stress. And if you're in a leadership position, how can you be an effective leader and set a good example if you are not motivated and energized to perform good work?

1) Get enough sleep. According to the National Sleep Foundation in Washington, D.C., 65% of Americans are sleep deprived. Try to get at least seven hours of sleep per night.

2) Go to bed and wake up around the same time each day. Within the same hour is ideal. Researchers at Stanford Universitys Sleep Disorder Center have found it is possible to catch up on sleep during the weekends, but this can also upset your circadian rhythms and leave you more tired on Monday morning.

3) Do not eat or drink anything within one hour of your bedtime. Your body will only have to work harder to digest your food, which interrupts sleep patterns. By drinking liquids right before bedtime its more likely youll have to get up in the middle of the night.

4) Put your nervous system on glide at least one hour before retiring for the night. You can do this by using soft lighting (no more than 25 watts) relaxing music, a scented bubble bath with candles or some other quiet activity. Try avoiding work at least three hours before you go to bed as this can energize you. The same is true with exercise.

5) Drink plenty of water during the day. Dehydration causes you to feel fatigued even if you are eating healthy and going to bed at a reasonable hour.

6) Plan at least one activity during the day that gives you pleasure and energizes you just to think about it.

7) Socialize with others. Make certain you spend quality time with other adults during the day. And if you work outside the home, preferably where you can discuss something besides business or the kids.

8) Exercise in the morning. Depending on your biorhythms and schedule, many attendees in my speaking engagements report that morning exercise gives them increased energy and a sense of greater calm during the workday. They often tell me they have to drag themselves out the door, but feel so much better afterwards.

9) Take a hot and cold shower to increase your energy. Upon awakening in the morning, take a hot shower with eucalyptus oil sprinkled on a loofah sponge. End with a shot of cooler water. This will invigorate your body, stimulate blood flow and bring oxygen to your cells.

10) Pour on the protein. Foods rich in protein help improve mental acuity and slow the absorption of carbohydrates. Eggs, fish, low fat dairy, nuts, seeds, peanut butter, also meat and poultry if youre not a vegetarian. Still, make sure you include plenty of other foods for moderation.

11) Cut back on caffeine. If you love coffee or colas (coffee lovers I can relate) cut back and consider adding green tea to your daily regimen. Green tea contains powerful anti-oxidants and less caffeine. It has enough caffeine to perk you up but usually not so much that you experience that crash later in the day.

12) Have a goal of taking at least two weeks vacation time a year. Work your way up to three and four weeks a year. Start taking off two days per week, if thats at all possible, where you refuse to do any type of work that would tax your mind and stress you out. If you are very busy or self-employed like I am, make this something to strive for in the future.

13) Spend time actually planning a getaway vacation. For many of us, staying home for a holiday is nice, but were still surrounded by bills, laundry, phone calls and other stressful distractions. Consider a goal of taking that dream destination vacation youve always wanted whether its to Tahiti, Paris, or a national park. If this seems virtually impossible, I strongly recommend you read the article titled How to Set Goals and Get What You Want under the free articles section at www.ColleenSpeaks.com I dreamed of an Alaska cruise for many years, practiced the simple time-tested techniques in that article, and cruised there for a third time in May 2005.

14) Get outdoors every day even if its overcast. Where I live in the Pacific Northwest, winters are normally gray. Winter 2005 was unusual with its turquoise-blue sunny skies and temperatures reaching almost 70 degrees in January. However, its a proven fact that with reduced sunlight, many people all over the world suffer from SAD, Seasonal Affective Disorder, during the winter months.

15) Listen to mood enhancing music during the day. What type of music energizes you and gets those feel-good hormones into your brain? Blues and jazz? R&B or rock and roll? A word of caution: be careful listening to your favorite music right before bedtime. I sometimes listen to contemporary smooth jazzlots of saxophone and trumpets late into the night, and often it energizes me rather than putting me to sleep.

Take personal responsibility for maximizing your success and minimizing stress. You cant control many external circumstances such as other people, traffic and weather; but you can control your environment. Write down three action steps youll take to improve your well-being. Share these with someone. Develop a buddy system for accountability. When you write them down and commit to them, youre more likely to follow through. Heres to much success and less stress!

A Successful Life

This world is not lacking in its quest for success, yet so few of us really achieve the success we seek. Perhaps it is because we have not clearly defined success. Merriam-Webster defines success this way: "a favorable or desired outcome." I like this definition because it leaves room for each of us to put our own spin on what success looks like to us. What makes one successful? True success is far more than accolades, money, and degrees. These things can certainly play a role in what success might look like; however, without a clear understanding of what success involves, it will continue to elude us.

So, what does it take to be successful? How do we achieve this "favorable or desired outcome"?

Step one: know who you are. I remember my 8th grade teacher's parting words to me as I ventured on to high school. Quoting William Shakespeare, her advice was, "To thine own self be true." When we are true to ourselves, our lives are governed by our beliefs, our values, and our principles. Consequently, our decisions are based on what is right for us and we stop living to please the rest of the world.

Step two: know who you want to be. This step involves much introspection because, again, it is based on beliefs, values, and principles. It is only after we apply our beliefs, values, and principles to our lives that we can then build a vision of a better self. An old proverb states: "Where there is no vision, the people perish." I take great liberties here to paraphrase by simply saying, "Without a vision of who you want to be, you will surely die without ever knowing who you can become."

Step three: define your mission. A mission is a definite task; it's the reason we exist. I mentioned in a previous article "The Fuel of Motivation" that our mission statement must reflect the values that govern our lives. A clearly articulated mission acts as a vehicle to help you get to your destination-success. Your mission will always depend on what you know about yourself.

Step four: take an honest assessment of your knowledge, skills, and attitude. What do you know about what you want to do? For example, after working through Jack Canfield's program "Self-Esteem and Peak Performance," I realized that I liked speaking and teaching. I also uncovered the fact that I am well suited for this career, and I am extremely effective. It never feels like work to do a seminar, workshop, or keynote. In contrast, I worked once as a data entry clerk-a job I never liked! I had the knowledge and the skills to do the job; however, I was not happy because I did not have the right attitude. I didn't have all of the knowledge and skills to become a public speaker, trainer, and consultant, but my attitude helped me to get what I needed. Assessing your knowledge, skills, and attitude will help you get on the right track to success and happiness.

Step five: know how you're going to get to where you want to go. All successful people set goals. I remember a woman from one of my seminars who mentioned that she did not believe in setting goals because our lives are already predestined. What a tragic way to live! We are all created to live a full and successful life. I don't believe that our achievement is left up to God. I think He leaves it up to us. SMART goals help us take inventory along the way and measure our success. These measurements must be: S- specific, M- measurable, A- attainable, R- realistic, T- time bound.

About 9 years ago, I decided to get serious about my life and began to set goals. It's magical! I have achieved satisfactory results in practically every area I've set a goal in: spiritual, financial, educational, and educational. Two of my major goals were to finish my master's degree and then finish my doctorate degree. Every semester I was able to determine whether I was getting closer to where I wanted to go. If you are serious about achieving success, you must set goals!

Step six: maintain a realistic mind480set about the challenges on the way to true success. A realistic mindset means that things will happen in an attempt to keep you from the success you desire, but you have to keep pressing on. For instance, on your journey to success, you may have to work through a relationship ending, or changing jobs, or suddenly having to take care your elderly parents. Prepare for those moments, and don't let them keep you from your success. I have met so many people in my seminars who started to _____ (you fill in the blank), but they stopped because life happened and they have never restarted. When I was in boot camp for the Army whenever someone started to lag behind during our morning 5-mile run, we would shout "Man up!" In other words, push yourself a little harder now, but do not give up.

Remember, success - on your terms - is within your reach if you will consciously work through these six steps!

Hypnotize the Pounds Away: Weight Loss Motivation Through Hypnosis

Many individuals these days, male or female, young or old, are struggling with weight management. Concerns with rising cases obesity are no longer based upon a Hollywood conception of what is the appropriate body size. Instead of doctors wanting their patients to be "thinner", they want them to be healthier. The patients, however, are not necessarily discerning the difference.

What Has This Lead To?

Both women and men alike are becoming hooked on yo-yo diets. What is a yo-yo diet? Yo-yo dieting describes the process of going on a diet, losing a few pounds and then going off the diet. When the pounds come back, the dieter then begins another diet and the process continues. Repetitive weight loss and gain is hard on the body, especially the heart and of course, it is hard on the emotional state of the dieter as well.

In addition to this, many dieters are using unhealthy methods of losing weight. Many take dieting pills which are often just glorified caffeine pills claiming to be the miracle cure for obesity. Then, there are those who dive into the "fad diets". Whether it is the cabbage or grapefruit diets, many of these do not give individuals the nutrition they need to live healthily. In addition, low carb diets such as Atkins often create abnormally high levels of protein in the body for the liver to digest. After all, man cannot live on meat and cheese alone.

What To Do?

Sometimes, good old diet and exercise is just not enough. Maybe its the genes. Maybe it is behavioral choices that we make everyday without realizing how they are undermining our health. So how do we change these behaviors? One method is through weight loss motivation hypnosis. You may have visions of a creepy soul dangling a pocket watch in front of your face and your eyes beginning to spin. However, this is not what hypnosis is.

The goal of hypnosis is to access the subconscious mind. Under normal circumstances, you control your conscious level of thought while your subconscious takes care of the automatic stuff, like tying your shoes or starting the dishwasher, things that do not require conscious thought. Still, your subconscious is like the driving force that works with our conscious brain to control our actions. Sleeping is the time when consciousness is put on the back burner and the subconscious mind can take control.

Dieting Motivation Through Hypnosis

Hypnotism works on relaxing the conscious level of the mind. Although your conscious mind is subdued and the subconscious mind is allowed the front seat, you are still knowledgeable about what is going on. You and your hypnotist will work to "reprogram" the subconscious side of you. If chocolate, for example, is your weakness, your hypnotist may associate chocolate with nausea so that thinking of chocolate makes you feel nauseous.

Individuality - Your Key to Greatness

For the better part of my first 32 years on this planet, I struggled to find something that I could do that would make me successful. All I knew for most of that time was that I wanted to be rich, I wanted to be known, and I wanted people to like me. Respect would have been a good thing too, but at that point, I was willing to sacrifice it, if necessary, to get the other three.

I tried many different good jobs , hobbies, businesses, and projects trying to find my thing. It seems like I had a different business card every month. It became a game to see if I could actually deplete my 250 count of cards before I was on to something else. I didnt have a clue. I had no idea what I wanted to do when I grew up.

One Friday morning, while I was on vacation and having breakfast with my wife, at a restaurant called Spoodles in Disneys Boardwalk Resort, I had an epiphany. Bam! There it was, out of nowhere. My life finally made since! I dont know what it is about that place (Disneyworld) but it always seems to get my dream wheel spinning. Faster than you could say Jimmie Cricket, all of the pieces of the puzzle came together.

It became crystal clear to me that I was never going to find my dream job. I was going to have to create it. And all of the ingredients that I would ever need to put this wonderful career together were already in place. Now it was just a matter of bringing them together in time, and with careful planning. You see, at this point in my life, I had already had three defining moments in my life: when I started playing the saxophone, when I saw a motivational speaker for the first time, and when I caught the entrepreneurial spirit back in college. Now I was having the fourth defining moment, and it was telling me that my vocation would be built on a unique mix of all three.

I finally understood how all of my talents, gifts, and interests fit into my life. They would eventually work together to allow me to touch the lives of people through the spoken word and musical expression, propelled by an entrepreneurial zeal.

It wasnt until I finally started to explore my own individuality, that I was able to see the unlimited potential for my life. Now, not only could I change my world, I could change the world if I dared to dream big enough. So what about you? Who are you? Do you even know? What could you do with your life if you just dared to be unique and embraced your individuality?

I leave you with the following questions, dare you to find the answers, and challenge you to live out the greatness within you. Be Great at Something! TM

Life Changing, Individuality Discovering Questions

1. What do you do well naturally?
2. What do other people spend money, taking lessons to learn, that you already do effortlessly?
3. What do you consider fun that other people consider work?
4. What kinds of movies, books, activities, social groups, organizations, and hobbies do you generally gravitate towards?
5. What could you spend hours doing and loose all track of time?
6. What have been some of your life defining moments?
7. What are your natural gifts, talents, and abilities?
8. What would you do, if you knew that you could not fail?

Change Your Focus and Change Your Results!

Often Ive heard people talk about feeling sad, stressed or depressed. They feel hurt, angry, in a rut among other things. The reason in most cases is usually because of something thats happened to them. Maybe they crashed their car, cant afford to pay a bill that is looming, need a job or someone didnt keep their promise. The stories are endless.

But have you ever noticed how effortless it is to get things done when you are feeling good? You find that you handle setbacks better, you can think of the future much more clearly, people are happy to be around you and you seem to attract everything you want. You give the right answers to the questions asked. Your children want a cuddle and so does your partner. Good problem to have right?

So why do people wallow in their problems, blame the environment, circumstances and let situations take over?

Why I hear you ask?

This is because most people have not learned to focus on what they are really thinking about.

In my life I have never met one person who can congruently say that they enjoy feeling any of those negative emotions. Have you?

They never think of how they want to feel instead.

Give yourself choice! Avoid talking about problems most of the time and thinking about what might or might not happen, what has been and cannot be changed.

I mean scream if you want to or even cry and then, do the right thing, let it go.

But if you ever find yourself feeling any of those emotions you might find it useful to do the following:

1. Be solution oriented Lets face it what has happened has already happened, you cannot change it. Start thinking about what you can do to resolve whatever it is you are dealing with. Adopt the How can I solve this attitude; from your how? will come all the ideas to resolve your challenges.

2. Decide how you want to feel - Realise that there is nothing to gain from allowing a negative issue take over your mind, for hours and days. They only incapacitate you. The power to solve issues comes when you are feeling good, ecstatic, joyous irrespective of the problems you face.

3. Focus on what you could be happy about Of all the unexpected things that can happen in your life right now, there are things in place that already make you happy. Think of your accomplishments, how about those things you did that people said couldnt be done, who loves you and who have you had the privilege of loving. The blessings are there if youll only look and focus on them.

4. Be a victor not a victim No matter what youre going through, somebody else has been through it and come out the other side. Even better, is the fact that there are people in worse situations than you. Know, believe and decide that you are capable of handling your problems, after all, you wouldnt have that problem unless you can solve it.

One of my mentors, Paul Elliott, often uses a phrase which I adopt at every opportunity and that is that State Dictates. The state of mind you are in is going to decide whether you do what you want to do or not. Whether you see the answers you want or not. Whether you can even think yourself into an opportunity or out of challenges. That is a discussion for another day.

The message is you dont become happy because things are going well, you need to be happy for things to get and be well.

Decide to be bigger than your challenges. Act in the moment, YES! The moment, the present; After all yesterday is gone! Stop living in the past.

Stay outstanding!

Is One Ready To Be A Millionaire?

Everyone wants to be a millionaire but the big question is: Are they ready? Of course one may ask: What do you mean if they are ready? Anyone would be ready to be a millionaire! We all tend to think in that manner that we are a millionaire when we have that the million dollars but the true and sad fact is that if one does not have the millionaire mindset, he or she will lose all the money eventually. Have you seen someone who has strike a lottery and in the end turn out to be even more broke before he strike the lottery? Have you seen any of the celebrities that were rich once and are now broke?

People may wonder why is this post appearing on an internet marketing blog? It was a moderator in a forum was suggesting to me to set up 2 different blogs talking about internet marketing and personal development separately. The initial drawback of having 2 blogs was a lazy attitude. But, personal development and internet marketing is in a way very much inter related. The purpose of most people that are reading this article is to learn how to be better, make some extra money or even for some, aiming to be a millionaire! If the personal development has not reached to a certain stage to preserve the money, he or she will blow it all away eventually.

Why are we behaving in a manner where we wants to blow all our money away? Could it be that it has something to do with our childhood programming? In the young days, when we were asked to save money, it will mean no candy for us. Since we were programmed that saving means no candy for us, we bring that state of mind into adulthood and in turn saving means sacrifice. Now, if we do not engage in personal development to tweak our state of mind and start learning how to save, we will never achieve the millionaire status ultimately. George Clasons book The Richest Man in Babylon says: A part of what I earn is mine to keep and that is actually teaching people to start paying themselves first or saving first.

I clearly remember what Jim Rohn says as well: Set to be a millionaire not for just the money but what you will become in the process of becoming a millionaire. I will be attending T. Harv Ekers Millionaire Mind Intensive seminar in November to change my financial blueprint with the aim to be a Millionaire.

Lets all go do it and aim to be a MILLIONAIRE!

I Believe In You! I Know You Can Do It Too!

Yours Believingly

To understand others is to have knowledge

Significant People Who Shape Your Life

Almost everyone has memories of a person who has had an impact on their life. Their words in that moment altered something deep inside of you and changed who you are. The person who influenced you could have been the parent of a friend, someone you saw on a regular basis at the grocery store, a neighbor or a beloved teacher. It could be something as simple as a conversation or how they conducted themselves in the world.

We all can have such an influence on others. Whether you believe it or not, your actions, attitude and how you conduct your life does get noticed and has an influence on others. Think of how you conduct yourself in your profession, at school or even while just out shopping. How we conduct our life teaches people and influences them. Thats a pretty heavy thought. If you wake up each morning knowing that today you will teach someone, that can absolutely have an impact on your attitude and how you feel about yourself and the world.

As we go through the day, we can try to be open to lessons to be learned from difficult people and situations. Every time someones remarks challenge us, its an opportunity to look inside and see what sensitive nerve was hit. Being human and preferring to be liked, its natural to want teachers who are considerate of our feelings. Consider this, however. When things are always lovely and sweet, what do you learn from it? Blunt or even unkind remarks could be what we need to spur a change. The important thing is to keep an open mind. Even things said that are obviously out of jealousy could contain a grain of truth. That grain of truth could be something to think upon in spite of someone elses perception. Study the words to see if there might be something to it. If not, then let it go.

So, what lessons do you think you have learned from someone else? I dont know about others, but I have learned life lessons from books and powerful television shows. The most powerful lessons Ive learned have been from people I know. I have a friend who could be considered severely handicapped. To me, she is the most positive person Ive ever met in my life. Her attitude in the face of horrendous adversity is something I have tried to emulate.

Review each situation to try to find the gem in the lesson that person unknowingly is teaching you. The best lessons are ones right there in front of you.

The Blessing of Life

Making Your Dreams Reality Book Series

Counting Our Blessings

Each day, as we begin to count our blessings, the world transforms into the reality for which our heart has been searching. The heart becomes the eyes, ears, and voice for the miracles of bountifulness, both Spiritual and physical, waiting to greet us each moment of the day. Gods love graces the ground all life and we walk upon.

Quote:
How Gratitude Sweetens the Journey

Count your blessings, not your crosses.
Count your gains, not your losses.
Count your joys instead of your woes.
Count your friends instead of your foes.
Count your health, not your wealth.
Old Proverb

Through the process of burning off karma, we learn more about gratitude being one of the most powerful tools we have been given in AGUB (Accepting Gods Unlimited Bountifulness).

Story:
A Squirrels Daily Visits of Gratitude

My office overlooks a beautiful golf course from two large bay windows. The office area is surrounded by wonderful huge oak trees whose branches reach to the window and tower over the building. Each day, as I am working on my books at the computer, I get completely lost in what I am doing. I absolutely love and have such a passion for writing that I often forget to stop to eat breakfast, take breaks, or eat lunch. I am having so much fun it overtakes my physical needs.

Therefore, AGUB (Accepting Gods Unlimited Bountifulness) brings unexpected gifts into my life to help stay balanced.

I absolutely love animals! I am blessed by having all kinds of wild animals around me each day. One day, as I was sitting at the computer writing, I looked up to see a branch of a large oak tree bouncing up and down in front of the bay window of my office. I looked around to see if the wind was blowing, but it was as calm as it could be outside.

Curiosity dragged me from my writing and I wandered over to the window to see my squirrel friend bouncing up and down on the branch trying to get my attention.

It was adorable!

His big eyes were staring at me knowing fully well that I would come and pay my daily visit to him. He was training me to be alert and accepting of divine love.

He looked down and began to chatter. It was as though he were scolding me for ignoring him.

I began to laugh. He ran down to the banister to get closer. I was telling him how beautiful he was and he listened intently to everything I was saying, understanding every word of our conversation. Before I left the window, I waved at him and told him how much I appreciated his visits each day. I told him that I was sorry I had been a little late that morning to greet him.

The next day, on his visit, he jumped on the oak tree branch again. I didnt respond as quickly as I should have because important information was flowing in for my books. I couldnt stop or I would lose it. He then jumped on the window with all four feet. I was sure he had injured himself. I ran to the window. He was looking up as if nothing at all had happened.

We had our usual talk, his chattering and my words of gratitude to him. As I was getting ready to turn, he waved his left paw.

What a shock to see an animal use a human form of communication!

I waved back and he again waved as if he were a person. We did this back and forth a few times then he was off to play in the tree.

I would have never believed this if I hadnt seen it with my own eyes.

Divine Love comes to us throughout our day but how often do we release our attention from all the business to accept these tokens of divine love?

Each day, this dear friend comes to visit. Moreover, he always knows exactly where I am in the office, wherever that might be. He begins his sweet soft chatter, so filled with divine love that it brings joy and laughter to my heart for all of Gods many blessings. An interesting thing is that he has never accepted food when I offer it to him. He just wants to give and receive divine love in the moments we share together.

These blessings are AGUB (Accepting Gods Unlimited Bountifulness) and help me produce a better life, speaking engagements, books, and brings bountifulness in every aspect of my life.

Celebration is the key to bountifulness.

Life is an attitude of gratitude as we count our blessings each second of everyday.

This Aerobic Exercise Program Could Change Your Life

It was about 100 years ago that I was first introduced to my first aerobic exercise program.

Coach Miller would "suggest" that we jog around the track for a while, suddenly break into a sprint for about 40 yards, and then slow down to a walk as our lungs cried out "Please dont do that again." In the beginning we looked upon this activity as an extreme form of punishment but we later learned that these alternating intensity workouts dramatically improved our energy and performance.

Of the three key exercise variable--how often you exercise, how hard you work and how long you last, intensity has the most powerful effect.

Your body responds to short bursts of intensity by releasing a cascade of fat-mobilizing hormones and anti-aging growth hormones that supercharge your metabolism and burn extra calories for 24 hours or longer.

Here's a good example of the powerful effect of exercise intensity on heart health. A new study by British researchers tracked 1,975 healthy men over ten years.

The men who exercised the hardest had a 47% percent lower risk of death from all causes and a whopping 62% lower risk of death from heart disease, compared with those who reported very little or no intense exercise.

The best part however is that the benefits of this aerobic exercise program were achieved with as little as nine minutes per day of vigorous activity.

I'm Gene Millen. Fifteen years ago a heart surgeon, sawed open my chest and stitched in bypasses to six of my favorite heart arteries. It wasn't as much fun as you might think...and started me on a journey to helping others avoid my mistakes.

My experience in aerobic exercise programs includes working with hundreds of people in the Vital Life Center, a health and wellness club for the "over 50 crowd.

I thought I knew all the right aerobic exercise programs, but after trying Dr. Sears' new PACE program, it was soon apparent that there was more to learn.

This program is extremely effective and takes far less time than the "conventional" programs which coax you into spending hours in the gym to achieve your goals.

Dr. Sears new patented aerobic exercise program builds on the principle that long-duration exercise isn't natural.

Our ancient ancestors didn't run for mile after mile without rest or recovery. Their exercise was primarily hunting, or on some occasions being hunted. Their daily exercise "routine" consisted of short bursts of exertion, followed by periods of very welcome rest.

By using this system you recreate exactly what your body needs for optimum health.

The unique feature of PACE -- progressively changing your routine over time -- ensures maximum fat loss with a "bulletproof" heart and "super-sized" lung power.

By boosting your heart's "reserve capacity," Dr. Sears reveals that you can nearly eliminate your risk of heart attack.

One of Dr. Sears' insights into how the human heart functions is the fact that it doesn't need "endurance training." Your heart was designed to keep beating far into old age.

Heart attacks don't happen because your heart lacks endurance. They happen during times of stress, when your heart needs more energy and pumping capacity, but doesn't have it.

By building reserve capacity -- which the PACE exercise weight loss program does quickly and easily -- you create a "reserve account" your heart can draw upon during times of emergency.

PACE is the best fat burner I've ever seen. It works just as well for the novice exerciser (I've used it on people with congestive heart failure) as it does for the extremely fit.

According to Dr. Sears, the big mistake with aerobic exercise and jogging is that it causes our bodies to store fat. Once you pass the 15 to 20 minute mark, you start burning fat during exercise.

But this tells your body you need fat to burn as fuel during exercise. As a result, your body will make and store more fat to prepare for your next run or aerobic workout -- a never-ending cycle making it impossible to get rid of that stubborn fat that never seems to go away.

PACE exercise weight loss routines are never more than 10 to 20 minutes.

That means your body burns carbs during exercise, not fat. After you finish the routine, your body starts burning fat to replace the carbs it just burned.

In fact, your body will burn fat for up to 24 hours after your PACE routine. It even burns fat while you are sleeping! After a few weeks, your body gets the message that it doesn't need to store excess body fat at all.

The extra lung power the PACE exercise weight loss program gives you is more important than you may realize. Dr. Sears tells us that lung volume is your number one indicator for risk of death.

The bigger your lung volume, the longer you'll live. It's critical for preventing disease and boosting your immune system. Not to mention that big lungs transport fresh oxygen to every cell in your body.

The PACE aerobic exercise program starts improving your heart health and supercharging your metabolism in a matter of days.

Dr. Sears has a very law of successful medical practice in Florida and a remarkable track record. He produces results for thousands of people from around the world.

The cardiologist grimly stated, "You are a walking time bomb." Two days later Gene Millen had a six-way heart bypass and now explains how Ten Minutes Exercise and a low glycemic diet can send them packing! Go to http://www.heart-health-for-life.com
